Marijuana AND Driving, Not SO Bad After All?

Marijuana AND Driving, Not SO Bad After All?
You know, I have to say, any story featuring The Big Lebowski deserves some attention.

According to a recent study done by the Hartford Hospital/University of Iowa, drivers under the influence of marijuana may not be so bad after all.

I am just going to put my hands up and say "I don't know," on this one.

**Disclaimer: AutoSpies does not condone driving while under any influence or drug

On the heels of a Ben Gurion University study showing that drivers under the influence of marijuana are less dangerous than drunk drivers, comes yet another study indicating that driving stoned might not be quite as bad as some think. Published in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, the Hartford Hospital/University of Iowa study titled “Sex differences in the effects of marijuana on simulated driving performance,” concludes that:

Under the influence of marijuana, participants decreased their speed and failed to show expected practice effects during a distracted drive. No differences were found during the baseline driving segment or collision avoidance scenarios. No differences attributable to sex were observed. This study enhances the current literature by identifying distracted driving and the integration of prior experience as particularly problematic under the influence of marijuana....

No. You got de-boosted because what you said is dumb.

And I hope that you are not equating Marijuana with Crack Cocaine? If So? Then that’s even a dumber statement. What next? Equating weed with Crystal Meth? They are both drugs right? Get a clue dude.

"Yes I'm associating crack with marijoe, crytal meth and all the other stuff you all love so much. Why you ask? My answer is, What's the difference?"

- You can overdose and die from one and not the other. Or did you not know that? But they are still the same right? Again, Get a clue.

Now take those same participants(preferably nontobacco users), while still high, and issue them each a can of Copenhagen long cut and a cup. And require them to each put minimum of a quarter can pinch in their cheek. Then retest and see how many cones are still standing; vehicle damage might have to be considered as well.

Alcohol effects driving. Weed not so much. Top gear did a test and the guy drove better when he was high.

Did you see the episode? Obviously not. It isn't that hard. Have the guy drive through cones and then parallel park while not high, Have him smoke a joint and then repeat. Record results.

How much more “scientific” do you have to you get than that?

This is what someone said. And I agree

"I have smoked and driven in the past. I am way more cognizant of what is going on around me. "

Couldn't find the vid but I found this.

I think that the act of driving high has to be separated from the act of getting high while driving. The latter is far more dangerous as it requires a lot of attention.

I only have one question..."You look in your rearview mirror and see a 16 year old kid on a learner's permit smoking a joint following you... what goes thru your mind ?"

That scenario only exists in your head.

To LexSucks.....Take a look in your rearview mirror every 30 seconds for a month, then get back to me. You may be surprised at what you see..
cell phone users, girls applying mascara, texting, weed, a guy getting some head, etc etc. I've seen it all.
