Spied: 2011 Lexus IS Facelift

It appears that Lexus is preparing a facelift for the 2011MY IS as spy photographers snapped the test mule in China.

The new facelifted version is expected to receive daytime running LEDs just like the LS flagship sedan, new fog lights, new rear lights as well as a new steering wheel. For those who don’t know, the last update to the IS range happened back in 2009 and this means it will be the last update until the next-generation will make its debut on the market.

How does it look like a Corolla? The car looks awesome. Looks better than the 3-series, not as driver orientated but its definitely much more comfortable. If they brought the !S350 to Australia, I would definitely consider one. This car contends really well with the Germans.

Yes there are definitely hints of corolla in the rear tail light design and the imitation brake vents.

Guys, Kpaxx is obviously trying to pull your chain! It's the same thing if I said that the Mercedes E-class looks like an old Hyundai or that the Jetta looks like a corolla...which they do by the way...

Not feeling it. Then again, I never liked the IS. It's probably the most cramped car in its class and the engine wasn't even fun at all (tested an IS250 a few years ago).

The 2.5L V6 in the IS250 is anemic. Drive the 350. The 2GR-FSE is a substantial step up from the 250s powerplant. It was also on the Wards Auto 10 Best Engines in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

But, yes, the back seat is, at best, vestigial for normal-sized humans ;)

Because the 3, G and A4 all best it in sports car dynamics. The point is that it is still a great looking car. While I wouldnt pick it over the competition, I still prefer it's styling more than the others.

I'm not a fan of the IS. The looks got dated quick for me. 2 years after its launched I was already bored of the looks. The only design I like the most is the GS.

Looks boring to me.Doesn't really offer anything new or more than the competition.I like the GS,but I really dont see too many of them. Other than that Lexus is boring right now with the exception of the LF-A.Whats up with the Audi LED's

I'm really interested to see what happens with the next version. Sure the LED lights are cool but let's keep going. The IS really did a lot for Lexus and it will be interesting to see how the next IS and GS compare to the competition. Lexus has a long way to go to compete with BMW on driving dynamics, but Lexus is still a great brand

2011 is the SIXTH model year for the IS. and it gets a little facelift? it's about time for a new model. the facelift was due two years ago. slow on the uptake as usual.
