Porsche refuses to race MINI Cooper S at Road Atlanta! Gives a funny answer!

As you may know already, few days ago MINI’s USA Chief Mr. Jim McDowell challenged Porsche’s North America President to a race: Mini Cooper S vs. Porsche Carrera S. You’s be surprised about Porsche’s answer…

First of all in the official letter Porsche said that they don’t race for fame, stunts or publicity… they simply race to challenge themselves in order to push sports car technology even further. Apparently Porsche is waiting for MINI at Sebrig, Le Mans or Dayton (that gotta hurt…)

Ha...ha...ha... Porsche has proven itself time after time it is one of the best sportscar out there. I applaud Porsche. Plus what does beating the Mini Cooper going to gain for Porsche? NOthing!!!

LOL that must hurt the little guys at MINI or BMW for that matter. A Mini Cooper (even if tuned to beat a Porsche Carrera S) is still not in the same league. The 911 line up may have a low end but the dynamics of the low end has been refined and improved. Look at the 0-60 figures of a PDK 911 in the low-range and you will see the big difference.

In any case a Porsche in terms of racing heritage is with the likes of Ferrari. MINI has no racing heritage like that. Mr. Bean is what comes to mind when I think of the MINI.

As an owner of a '09 C2S and a '10 Cooper S, I can assure you that the Mini would have to be driven by Schumi and the Porsche be driven by Agent 00R for there to be a chance for the Mini to win. But that doesn't mean that the Cooper isn't a huge fun car.

At least the Cooper executive has a sense of humor.
