Mitsubishi Lancer EVO diesel hybrid in the works
Mitsubishi plans to do a major overhaul of its Lancer Evolution by making a diesel hybrid as its next incarnation. Switching the drivetrain can be designed to save the Evo from stiffer economy and emissions standards while maintaining its trademark mid-range shove.

Reports say that Mitsubishi is seriously thinking about ending the Evo model altogether. Last month, sources in Japan said that a project to switch to a petrol hybrid powertrain and base it on the PX-MiEV SUV concept’s platform was dead. But very recently, the carmaker’s R&D department was granted approval to instead design the car as a diesel hybrid.

Ruin the image of a car that already kneels to the STI. Evo 9 owns the X.

Another sign that Mitsubishi's managers are confused and are hell-bent on destroying the brand as a whole. They all need to be fired and made to carry out harakiri.

The Evolution is one of the most exciting attainable cars on the market today, because of its performance and rally roots. Its performance outshines its legendary reputation, and is the halo for the brand that brings consumers Mitsubishi otherwise wouldn't have; and desperately needs.

I just bought the 2010 MR Touring, and because of it I have bought an Eclipse (project car) and my wife is looking at the new Outlander sport coming this fall. Don't lose that!

Vote this "up" if you like the Evolution!

Dear Mitsubishi,

We are pleased to announce that you have been selected as a finalist in the annual J.D Power and Associates awards. Your company has been selected for our "Formerly Relevant Car Companies" category.

This is a highly sought after award won by such prestigious companies such as Tucker, Oldsmobile, Cunningham, Saturn, DeLorean, Triumph and Hudson.

This years competition is turning out to be particularly fierce as you are entered into the running with early applicants Pontiac, Hummer and Mercury. It is of the committees opinion that if you were to continue with your current business case, you would surely place strongly against the other finalists by the time the final awards take place in December.

So again on behalf of the selection committee, J.D. Power and Associates and the entire automotive industry I would like to thank you for your ongoing contribution to corporate mismanagement and look forward to reading your inevitable obituary this December.

Bonne Chance !!!
