Preview: Next-generation Cadillac Escalade
This Lambda-based Cadillac might replace the standard-size Escalade in the current lineup, according to an Inside Line report that cited a high-ranking GM executive as its source.

This Lambda-based Cadillac crossover will soon arrive at dealerships but it remains unconfirmed if it will actually replace the current Escalade or if it will be a new model to the lineup. Various rumors have been flying around ever since GM suspended plans to revamp its lineup of full-size SUVs. It is anticipated that fuel-efficiency standards will be stricter.

I hope it's an additional model, if it's the new escalade it will be a sad day

the photochop is really cute --- a lambda-based cadillac won't look like a relay or traverse. but cadillac needs more product and a larger street-oriented suv makes sense. cadillac does need more products in its lineup b/c a luxury vehicle can survive in just about every market segment.

If this replaces the escalade your will have plenty of disappointed cadillac owners

If it does replace the big Caddy I just hope it doesn't look like that, way too bland.

That looks very small to me and nothing special. Like the Current Escalade design more.

It looks similar to the Buick Enclave design.

I cant understand why GM would drastically change an Iconic vehicle for Cadillac in the 21st century to the Lambda platform.. Meaning it would be smaller and most importantly(the reason why the Escalade is so poplar)less flamboyant..

not wise...

Actually, the Lambda crossovers are longer than the GMT900 truck, by about 3 inches. They are about half an inch narrower, but are somewhat lower in height by about 6 inches. The Lambdas also have a longer wheelbase. Not that I am agreeing that the Escalade should be moved to the Lambda, but the facts need to be stated.

Oh no, this can't be good. How many of the Lambda crossovers have you seen with 22's?

i dont think it will replace the escalade. cadillac just needs to add it to their existing lineup. gm can make a lambda-based caddy version look & perform with a bit of a more sport-luxury character. toyota still sells the land cruiser despite offering the venza & sequoia. the tahoe/suburban are still around doing ok since adding the traverse.

cadillac has to stop tip-toeing around chevrolet & trying to use 1 vehicle to compete against 3 or 4 benchmarking competitors.

When reading this article above, there was an ad about the GMC Terrain. Then I saw the pic of the Escalade. Both black, both pics taken from the same angle. The resemblance was very striking. That's not a good thing either.

To the Group in Charge. Please, let us not have a repeat of similar past errors so obvious to the public and yet often ignored by 'The' decision makers.
Cadillac can certainly do a whole lot better in designing the next 'Generation Cadillac Escalade' than the unit highlighted above.

Cadillac Escalade is exceptionally awesome! Its looks are sure to grab eyeballs..But besides that it is really powerful driving combined with practical interiors..And such luxury that will steal your hearts..This car is surely a top contender in the class of large luxury SUVs!
