Does Infiniti Risk Its Perception In The Marketplace By Allowing Real Customer Reviews On Its Own Website?
Not only are brands like Lexus being forward thinking in their web efforts. Infiniti has stepped up to the plate too and it is being very brave.

In a relatively risky move, Infiniti now has done something unthinkable for what is their biggest unveil going into the 2011 model year. The new M's controversial design will not be the firm's only intriguing move, the company has set up an area of its site for owner's reviews of their current M's.

Now while this may seem like a brilliant idea if the reviews are glowing but what if some unhappy owner voices his or her's opinion.

Are they changing car manufacturer websites forever -- and being the most forward thinking on the web -- or will the real life opinions of its cars and dealer experiences diminish the perception of their brand?

Does its grade in customers eyes go from say a B+ as it is now to a C or lower in real life?

I certainly applaud them for taking a risk.

But knowing how people are on the internet, i think they may have bit off more than they can chew.

I also noticed that they have yet to get even one person to review the new M. All the reviews are the last gen car...

This is not new. There review site has been up since January. I'm sure if BMW did the same thing you would praising them for the initiative and knocking Infiniti for falling behind.

Who here thinks that Infiniti will set up an Autospies-style free-for-all? Not me. I speculate they will allow users to submit their comments, and then a moderator will clear the ones for appearance on the web site that sound like they were written by someone who has passed a driving exam. Oh, and also has something really nice to say about the car.

The more I see that M commercial that talks about the pure silver dust hand-polished into the wood, the more I actually like that car. There is an angle (rear quarter) that is simply beautiful. I haven't seen one in person yet, but I can just imagine that it's one of those cars that you can only appreciate when standing in front of it. Believe it or not, the Suzuki Kizashi is one of those cars...

It's brilliant! This strategy will build customer loyalty through complaint and response postings. As long as Infinity takes these postings to heart and manages them effective, they're bound to be recognized in coming years.

Respect for going with the transparency approach.

Well, don't you think they can censure posts anyway? I'm sure if something is really negative then can just delete it.

Seems a lot more bold than Autospies posting articles written by BMW fanboys.

I own a current M35 sport which I at-the-time picked over a 530. I actually liked the overall styling of both cars, but in the end I just didn't find the bimmer as satisfying as the M. My only major qualms were the ginormous tail lights (or the fact the profile looked and still looks like a Maxima). I like what they've done on the 2011 model.
Oh, and 4 years later, not a single issue to report - the interior has held up and reliability has been outstanding.

Has anyone figured out how you actually post one of those reviews on their site?

I have M owners asking me where you submit them to...

I didn't see any link to submit one...Would be interesting to see the turnaround time.
