Nissan LEAF EV coming with pedestrian warning tech

Nissan has started giving test drives for its upcoming Leaf electric car to a chosen group of prospective buyers and VIPs at its test track in Oppama. The Leaf’s “Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians” system will be demonstrated. This system generates a type of noise so that pedestrians would know that the Leaf is going their way.

That's a great option because I heard electric cars doens't make noice so pedestrians with this sound have a reason to see that something is coming...
