Volkswagen Beetle is the top car among women, survey says

The Volkswagen Beetle proves that it’s still appealing as it has been named as the top car among women in a survey conducted by TrueCar.

Trailing the Beetle closely are the Nissan Rogue and Hyundai Tucson compact SUVs and Volkswagen Eos convertible. The auto industry researcher revealed a demographic study that looked at over 13 million vehicle registrations from the past couple of years. Jesse Toprak, TrueCar’s vice president of industry trends and insights, said that there is still a “sizable gender gap” when looking at vehicle registrations.

My guess is that the data is flawed. If there is more than one name on the registration, the second name is likely not in the database - and most often, that is the wife's name.
