Stud if you want a sporty good looking SUV, dud if you are looking for something to go off roading with.

STUDLY, arguably better looking than the 99-04 model, which was my favorite.

Saw one on the road the other day. It looks agreeable, but the problem with the Grand Cherokee has never been the look IMHO, it has always been the performance, fuel economy, build quality and reliability. In this category the Land Rover kicks the Grand Cherokee where it belongs, the stone age.

It is all relative in that category. Let's hope this new Grand Cherokee proves me wrong.

STUD, I say. The exterior and interior are nice. Now, if Chrysler (FIAT??) can hold off on trying to make all the other Jeeps look like scaled down versions of this and build the other vehicles from unique perspectives, then this may be the beginning of a truly bright future for the company. It's too early to deem this the vehicle that saved them, but do we remember the Enclave? See how GM managed to make the other Buicks attractive with the same basic theme, but not scaled down Enclaves? THAT'S the formula we need to see employed here...

Those headrests look like they came directly from the ML/GL Mercedes.

I have an ML550, and the bezels on the gauge pods also look to be lifted straight from the ML/GL. Not surprising--if I remember correctly, the new GC is built on a similar platform to the ML.

the ML was built b/c of the success of the original GC, so if what you both said is true, sharing ML platform is a justified thank you.

I know of a VW Audi Jeep Chrysler dealership under one roof--will be interesting to see Touareg and GC side by side.

I see little bit X5 in the rear end. Overall looks like a step forward both in exterior and interior. So Stud for me.
I know it is not a direct competitor of Cayenne but to me it looks better than that. SRT8 variant is very popular here in Middle East so would like to see that. It is a nice performance SUV for half the price of a Cayenne Turbo and this time will even look better than Cayenne.

Why the deboost for merely stating that it is based on the Mercedes ML, I am just stating fact.....Children...... I think it will do well if they can get more consumers to test drive them.

Studud,
Pro = Sticking with traditional American modern jeep design! Cool!
Con = Very questionable longterm reliability.
Verdict: Stud + Dud = Studud

STUD, looks great. The only problem I have ever had with Chrysler products is that horrible A/C system, hopefully its finally up to par.
