Suzuki Pulls Off The Wraps, Unveils FULL Specs On 2011 Swift - Should Ford's Fiesta Be Concerned?
Oh-kay, here's the scenario. You've got a bit of cash, want a new car but are not looking to be a speed demon. It has to be practical and the only task you require from it is to get you from point "A" to point "B."

Blam-o, you have got it, the 2011 Suzuki Swift.

Sure, it doesn't have the pedigree of a Porsche but nor do you expect it to. It's an around town grocery getter that will leave you some bills in your wallet while being able to look fresh. According to Carscoop, it will even return 47 MPG. This bests the 2011 Ford Fiesta.

With this in mind, what wins the small car battle? A 2011 Ford Fiesta OR the 2011 Suzuki Swift?

You might remember that we reported on the all-new 2011 Suzuki Swift earlier this month, but now we have a fresh batch of photos including the first shots of the supermini's interior as well as the complete spec sheet for both the five-door and the yet to be revealed, three-door version.

Starting with cabin, the pictures reveal that the dashboard design and layout is clearly inspired by the larger Suzuki Kizashi sedan with restrained metallic accents and a similar styling for the center console that houses new switchgear and LCD displays for the audio system and A/C.

As we noted in our previous post, despite the fact that the 2011 Swift is based on a new and longer platform, the car's exterior styling is a subtle evolution of the outgoing model's design...

Maybe if GM brought it back as the Metro, and then told everyone its a "Consumers Digest" best buy during every commercial break, and packed the inaugural model with lots of features that could be deleted later (without reducing sticker price of course),and don't forget the inline 3 cylinder gasoline power plant, then just maybe it might get a few Fiesta customers. Its sooo ugly tho.

Suzuki has terrible resale value. They are virtually worthless in the wholesale market. Much worse than the big 3 resale values.

vogeygolf, you are way behind the times. Genuine Suzuki cars do not have terrible resale, they have been the "most improved resale value" brand for the past few years running. The SX4 for example slots in right between Honda and Toyota for resale value. The new Swift should do just as well as the SX4 in that regards.
