Ferrari to launch a new or heavily revised model each year
Ferrari won’t let its fans catch their breaths as it plans to launch a new or heavily revised model each year.

Ferrari will manage its four mainstream model lines this way – an M or modificato model will replace the four-year-old original and it will have a revised design as well as powertrain and chassis improvements. And four years after that, a completely new model will arrive. Since there are four models in the range, one all-new or M model will be launched every year, plus such variants as Scuderia or Spyder. And every decade, Ferrari will release a new top-end Enzo-type car.

IMNSHO, Ferrari really shined in the days of to-die-for gorgeous mid-engine convertibles. They don't make those any more. To me, churning out something new or really changed up each year smacks of being lost, and searching for a hit. It's also resource-intensive. It reminds me of The Big Three approach: New this year!!!!

In contrast, as constant evolution and refinement of success stories, and occasionally introducing a new member, is more like what I'd like to see. This reminds me of the Porsche way.

But that's just *my* take on things :-)

Isn't the Italia convertible (2011 model) supposed to be the "to die for gorgeous" model you are talking about? It's mid-engined and looks like it will be better looking as a convertible than the coupe!

I need a $280K to get in line :)

Nope, the Italia is not pretty to my eyes. From the apparently ill-fitting hood (yeah, I know... it's deliberately designed to look that way), to the headlight that run half way to the A-pillar, to the "plopped into clay" tail lights and their accompanying strange black panels (vents?) beside them, the car looks painfully awkward. In terms of styling, the Italia is definitely *not* up to Ferrari's historic standards.
