Bentley considering a rival for the Porsche Panamera

Due to the impressive sales of the Porsche Panamera, it appears that Bentley is seriously considering a rival for the German car, a five-door fastback to the next-generation Continental range.

According to a source from Bentley, it seems that a sporty hatch will also be less expensive than the traditional four-door saloon. For those who don’t know, back in March at the Geneva Motor Show, Italian styling house Touring Superleggera revealed the Continental Flying Star, a three-door shooting brake version on the Continental GT.

I LOVE the Bentley GTC, so consider this is a Bently fan writing this: Bentley making a Panamera-type vehicle? I don't think so! Bentleys are stately and elegant when they are being true to themselves, and somewhat of a joke when they try to be 2-ton sports cars. I wish Bentley oodles of luck, but I think they'll be seriously challenged to pull this one off.

All they really have to do is take the GT and lengthen it out to say 4 doors, and voila! you now have a bold Panamera competitor. Me likee....
