Recalls? This means nothing to Toyota. They are immune to recalls now. Their sales haven't stopped and they are still very heavy with cash.

Although with all these recalls, Toyota is looking more like GM of the '80s and '90s.

um, they're practically giving the cars away. tons of discounts, 0% financing, etc. yeah...no effect at all.

Fuel issue on an hybrid car, how ironic.

I'm not shocked at the recall, I'm shocked there are 17,000 to recall.

" the LF-a already trumps anything BMW has ever made "

Well since BMW hasn't built a super-car since the M1 in the 70's thats true, unless you count the BMW engined McLaren F1 from the 90's that out performs the LF-A in every area.

So you admit to buying a by name....uh-oh. That's not an enthusiast. The question is, if you could afford a BMW, Mercedes, Audi or Porsche...would/could use all that racing heritage that's built into your monthly payment?

The article states that there is a discrepancy between the test results between NHTSA and Toyota on the amount of gas spillage in an accident. They didn't say how much difference, but it would help if more information were available to the public.

Lexus is really great with customer support, so the owners should be treated well. No other car company treats the customer better in my experience. Toyota is a process oriented company so they need to give more weight to test engineers teams.

Would the so called "Lexus" fanboys please stand up! That Toyota Avensis is an abomination on two counts. Sure Toyota "Lexus" will take care of their customers, as that is really the value proposition that they have. But do people really think that is not a correlation between the problems that Toyota has cropping up and past problems as well and them cutting so many corners for the sake of volume? And that corporate decision was made in 1995.

And I concur with MPLS, and these products are classified as commodity luxury. Take your pick from Audi, Lexus, Cadillac, Acura, Infinti, etc.

Boohoo. You make all the negativity towards Toyota seem undeserved, and that that UAW+US car companies are starting some massive conspiracy.

Toyota cars are garbage - engineered to safe costs. Slap a pseudo "luxury" badge on a Toyota doesn't mean it's engineered any better. Just a cheap POS Jap car.

Pathetic.

Technological innovation ? MB yea they were great pre 1984 but BMW ? The only great innovation BMW has undertaken is convincing Americans that an overweight saloon with boosted steering is a sports car. (Like saying the $1 McDonald's schlep is fine cuisine)
As for Autosports, let it be known that European marques dominate European motorsports cause the rule book ensures it does. When guys like Mazda (as in the rotary) won in LeMans they promptly changed the rules to ensure it never happened again.
The same way Japanese cars rule drift and JGTC and american cars rule Nascar.
Give what is due, to who its due. Japanese automakers have given and continue to give millions of middle class people great cars that outdo everybody else.
Toyota to me has always done that and will continue to do so.
Recalls happen, especially when the UAW friendly NHTSA can mandate special rules for Toyota.
But ask millions of Toyota users in the US and worldwide (including the US special forces in Afghanistan) which brand of car will they rely on . It is Toyota.
As for me, they have served me very well and earned my trust and loyalty.

You are not funey boy, you are sad. BMW stands for innovation, and I don“t have enough time to waste to name all their innovations. Google a bit and learn.

By the way, Toylex never stood, and up to now does not stand, for innovation, they stand for copying. Die hard Toylex fans like you make me always throw up a little.

So many haters.......I love the fact that people jump on Toyota/Lexus the first chance they get. Hell, they're still one of the best automobiles made. And more than enough performance for 80% of the posters on here. What about Ford and they're recall of the Fusion, only their greatest sedan in decades! Now there's innovation......make a quality job one again!
