Is THIS The Car That Could Spark A Revolution? What Is More Intriguing? The Car Or The Manufacturing Process?
So, it is supposed to get 74 MPG, has seating for three, ONLY has 50 some odd horsepower and takes a century to reach 60 miles per hour.

Keep in mind, however, this is a city car.

Although the car's stats are intriguing and all, it isn't so much the car that is really important here.

What IS important is what AutoExpress is calling Gordon Murray's iStream process.

Supposedly, it is "...A complete rethink and redesign of the traditional manufacturing process and could potentially be the biggest revolution in high volume manufacture since the Model T."

The key is that the new process can reduce plant size, thereby decreasing the amount of capital required to get a MONSTER plant up and running.

So, with that said, what is more interesting: the car or the iStream process?

Gordon Murray’s revolutionary T25 city car makes its public debut today at the Smith School’s World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment in Oxford.

Auto Express has already had exclusive access to the prototype at Murray’s research and development base in Guildford. But now the official specs for his city car, codenamed T25, have been released.

Measuring 2.4-metres long, 1.3-metres wide and 1.6-metres high, the T25 is an extremely compact city car. But despite its size, the car still has seating for three, thanks to its innovative interior layout. A maximum of 720-litre of luggage space is also possible...

When Gordon Murray, the man responsible for the McLaren F1, says, "...could potentially be the biggest revolution in high volume manufacture since the Model T.” a casual observer would have to be a complete idiot not to think this was most likely a big deal.

Maybe if gas hit $20 a gallon and/or I were on welfare, I'd consider it.

The passengers don't seem very comfortable; the whole design is very simple; I'm sure the tech involved is mediocre. I'm also pretty sure that the main revolution here is that the man got the money and will to make such a vehicle. Of course, if this thing proves to be a success, that's another for his resume!

Fewer parts = easier/cheaper assembly. Its not rocket science (or even iScience).

Half of a smart car is hardly revolutionary.

Yea sure great looking golf car can only imagine what would happen if a gas guzzling SUV ran into it. At that moment I'd pay a gas guzzling tax just to be in the SUV.
