2011 BMW 550i Vs. Modified Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Guess Who Wins...

2011 BMW 550i Vs. Modified Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Guess Who Wins...
Now, I know this is not the pairing you would expect but hey, you play the cards you're dealt.

And, while I know some of you are saying "Hey, it is a Jeep it isn't that fast," I beg to differ. The SRT8's are a force to be reckoned with, as long as their is not a curve. Zero to 60 comes in under five seconds from its 6.1L HEMI V8, which produces 420-horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.

Not bad for a sport-utility vehicle.

Probably the scariest driving experience I have ever had was piloting a Grand Cherokee SRT8 around a track. Woof, that car was a mess.

But we're talking straight-up zero to 60 acceleration in a straight line.

Guess who wins....

BMW 550i F10 vs. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

Quote:
The 550i is bone stock and with about 200 miles.

The Jeep has Diablo Predator Tune, Borla S-type exhaust, B Woody intake, and oil catch can.

"seriously? who cares?"

Just the people who spend the time to click on the link, read the post, watch the video, log in, and post a message I suppose.

Interesting but not surprising. The SRT8 has been around a while now and engines/HP are catching up.......

Your overdoing the whole BMW fanboy thing now.At first it was a bunch of news about boring BMW topics featuring nothing interesting or new. Now its videos of a 550 spanking a SRT8.Its not all that surprising. Theres a lot of videos of Honda Civics beating ///M5's. That would be more interesting.

Okay that video is a bunch of bs, the 550i is slower then a stock srt8. So either the srt8 was not a really a srt8 or it was broken. The 550i is 0-60 in more then 5.0 while a stock srt8 does well below 5.0. Now are you going to tell me a srt8 with mods got beat by a stock 550 if so i got a bridge to sell you.

Inline6 -- you dolt also....

550 0-60 5.4 secs according to BMW

Inline6 is not the dolt, you are. Everyone knows that BMW. along with most manufacturers, underestimates their 0-60 times. 400+hp out of that twin turbo V8, the car is a beast.

And how is this surprising? What a waste of an article. Wait, maybe, you know just to be sure, you could test a Ferrari and a Suburban and see which one is faster.
lol

There isn't much news coming out of the mills lately so we do need fillers. As long as it sparks conversation and page views the advertisers are happy :) It is a side business after-all.

Hold on everybody, Manufacturer data always underestimates true 0 to 60's, The BMW 750i has been tested down to 4.9 seconds so of course the 550i is going to be even faster.

I have a hard time believing this race because of the launch. Anyone who has seen a Jeep SRT-8 launch will agree. From a roll, not surprising the bimmer is faster.

Just re-watched the vid; Jeep did NOT launch. My modded G8 would have beaten the Jeep in THAT race.

My comments here are considered the most offensive to the "enthusiasts".

WOW I am really surprised, that was a really good jump for the BMW guy especially considering the Jeep has AWD. I BMW kept pulling on him after the takeoff.

Inline6 you obviously don't know anything about cars, a modded srt8 would be faster then a m5, are you telling me a 550i is faster then the current m5 i am not even talking about the next one. If bmw says the 550i is 0-60 in 5.4 it will be quicker then that but a srt8 is already under 5 seconds and with mods it's even quicker. So please stop talking out your ass.

My 08 SRT8 runs about a car length behind the current M5 in light to light action. That Jeep didnt even try to race until the 550 took off.
