AUTO SPIES WORLD EXCLUSIVE: We beat the street getting the heads up on pricing for the Lexus LS600h L

We all know from the auto show coverage last week how amazing the Lexus LS600h L will be when they take it to the streets.

What no one knows until now is how much will the car sell for.

Rumors have been flying that it would be priced over $100k.

Some publications have even predicted it will hit $125k.

Our insider sources have told us that it will be expensive but not just because it's a hybrid.

The main reason pricing will be high is that there will only be one configuration.

All LS600's will be ultra luxury models which means they will have every conceivable option like power reclining rear seats, etc.

Our sources tell us it will be priced in the low 90's at launch.

Knowing Lexus, our bets are on the car coming in at $89k, so they can publicize that it is the same price as the Mercedes S550.

I leased an '06 A8 because of Quattro, a better overall value vs the S-Class and 7 Series, and the design (inside and out) rocks.

But this new Lexus also has AWD and tons of included options that will be a super value if they cap it at $90k.

German car fans will cry about this not being real car or design cues were purged from their models. Wake up. Every automaker "borrows" from every other automaker. And what makes a "real" car? The badge? The heritage? It's more about how it makes YOU feel. If you can wake up every morning and smile when you sit in your car, THAT is real.

Audi does have a better overall value then MB or BMW and the best interior that MB & BMW would never match.

Audi's MMI ((I-drive) is much more simple to use, that anyone who knows how to use a computer can easily navigate Audi's MMI system.

I didn't have to read the car manual to figure it out, granted I work in the IT field and I am a high tech freak.

Like JMd, I also leased a 2005 Audi A8. I wanted to buy it at first but then prefered to lease it in order to see how the car would hold up. Till now I haven't had a single problem with it, unlike the other who I work with are always complaining their BMW or MB is at the shop because of some electrical bugs.

If Audi comes out with a V10 diesel engine which it may come out with, I would then purchase it.

My lease on the SC 430 Lexus is ending this year. In its place, I'll lease the new LS600h for my soon to be wife. (Still not used to that word Wife)lol As long as I remeber the magic 2 words YES DEAR lol

Shes into real estate and sometimes borrows my A8 to show homes for her customers. So I hope that the new LS600H with the reclining seat will help her sell more homes. lol I am sure it will be a great car for her as well as for me knowing that it is an extremely reliable car, and that the after service is top notch, and she'll be given a courtesy car incase the car should be kept overnight.

At $90,000, I'll take an LS600h and buy shares in Toyota. Also if Toyota prices the LS600h at under $100,000 in major European countries I will short the stock of Daimler Chrysler and BMW.

I know it wouldn't sell as well as a sedan or SUV, but wish Lexus could develop a competitor to the stylish MB CL class. How about a LS600hC?

So many positive words. No one seems to care that the car only gets 21 MPG combined with a Hybrid? Nor do we seem to care about what happens with those batteries? I watched a special on TOP Gear where they drove an A8 diesel 800 miles on a single tank of fuel. That worked out to 40 mpg on Audi's old diesel technology. Add FSI and who knows what wonders lay ahead. And Lexus can add awd but it will never be quattro we all know and have to admit that. They do make a good lookin car however. I still feel this has the side profile of the 7 series but who am I to say? and 90+ I would opt for the S8 V10 that should get an average of 15-17 combined. I'll give up the 6-4 mpg to have that brute! Sorry Lexus fans but I preferr Diesel over Hybrid!

The thing that people seem to miss is that the Hybrid LS is designed to make you rich off of savings vs. the ICE iterations. The point is that you get leading edge technology, power, torque, acceleration, and on top of that less trips to the gas tank at a bargain price compared to competition with the same power.
