Will this be the 2013 CTS' V8 option under the V series?

Possibly but a SC Gen 5 V8 is more likely.

hes asking if this engine will the option BELOW the V series so no a supercharged V8 will not be under a v series so your comment makes no sense. IT would make sense to offer this engine as a middle of the road option a 256hp power difference between the DI V6 and the CTSV leaves alot of room for a new model

I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean below, if you're going to file something under a certain category, you're not gonna choose the category "below" it...

Of course he means below the V-series.

you are a moron... GM's small block V8 runs a lot smoother and quieter than Nissan's newest VQ engines, and it revs higher than Lexus' DOHC V8.

Actually pushrod is correct. My father-in-law owns one and I (as a Nissan fan and owner) can attest first hand that the VQ is not as smooth as the V8 in the vette.

Besides this engine will need to be compliant with new CAFE standards for the Fleet so along with the direct injection and aluminium block, you can go ahead and assume that it will be DOHC and will have cylinder deactivation. Because if GM is spending almost a billion dollars on the design of this one engine you can bet that they anticipate it to be part of the fleet for a while and it will appear in multiple car iterations.

LOL! oh badgewhore, 500,000 out of a lexus? bahahaha, maybe out of the nice relaxed vette engine that has been refined for decades... but not out of a cheap flimsy lexus lol.

Then why even mention the V series? Wouldn't it be less confusing to just say "Will there be a base V8 option?" or "Will there be a V8 outside the V series?"

By saying under it is implied that is marketed under the V series brand.

Not sure what your problem is but foolish use of semantics on your part or not, but it shouldnt be that difficult to figure out what hes saying seriously.......your comment has no logic, not surprised

Seriously the post was ambiguous and I interpreted it one way and other people another. It isn't something to jump down someone's throat about.

Apparently you think I have no logic and am a fool. Feel free to not read/respond to my posts in the future. Thanks.

By under, he means below. Why would GM put a 440hp V8 in a 2013 CTS-V when the current one is pushing 556hp? It actually is common sense...
