Toyota To Recall 270,000 Lexus and Toyota Cars For Defective Engines
Toyota Motor Corp by Thursday morning had not yet alerted U.S. safety regulators of a recall of Toyota and Lexus models for possible engine stalling while driving, a NHTSA official said.
Toyota officials in Tokyo earlier on Thursday said the world's top automaker was considering "some kind of measure" that may include the recall of 270,000 vehicles worldwide involving eight of its Toyota and Lexus models.
No accidents or injuries have been reported, Toyota said, related to the issue.

They are indeed having issues. Add this to the fact they already delaying everything in the pipeline and you get a hint at how bad it must have become.

Well... now if your toylex unintendedly accelerates, there is still a chance of the engine stalling to save you... hehe, I kid I kid. Anyway, I thought I read about Toyota already having this problem 6 months ago in their Matrix's.

If you don't want to be a victim of Toyota just trade it or don't buy them. They just know what they have being hidden all of this years. Protect your whole family and relatives from this.

This is great to now if they don't have enough sincerity we are more safe to check all of this pages and CR too. Remenber they never said anything about the Lexus SUV was the magazine and then they said they need to replace the software bla bla bla and update bla bla bla we need to check clearly all of this details. people sometimes try to safe money without limit of consecuences. There is one of them. Don't become a victim of them.

So much for Lexus being "independent" from Toyota. Lexus fanboys claim the chasis, engines, etc. are different. Lexus hides behind Toyota when the recalls are made. For any other news, Toyota is not mentioned.

Hopefully this is where Toyota changes there strategy and start with there quality control being stringent again, the quality of all non Toyota brands is going to push Toyota to up there poor quality, hopefully they don't waste the money on advertisements instead of getting to the issues.

If they change is to late is not time to play competitions very hard and customers have several problem to find one more for a simple reason yeap to buy a car from an Old company because is not new but they save money and make trash things for theirs customers. TO LATE.
I prefer don't talk about Toyota AD because I almost get mad every second yoo see one on TV lier lier lier this trash is not for me and not for my family. If you want to become a victim just take one.

pepitol66, that is what I was trying to convey, lets hope that Toyota spends the money on build quality, but we all know that they will spend it on advertisements and lie to us.

In 2007 I was researching vehicles and I needed an A-B car to commute 150km a day, gas was also way up. Safety is also a big issue, All the research pointed to the Honda, safest, best handling, fastest,sportiest...And I had already owned 3 Toyotas at this point, I let reality dictate my buying decision, not blind emotion,
Can you imaging if all people thought like that how good vehicles would be!

that's funny, let me try it.
Whenever Toyota has something negative it gives the three stooges (badgewhore, invisible, huu76) something to blindly defend.

I would still take Lexus quality over many of the other brands. Recalls are a fact of life for all car makers. This just happens to be news because it involves a company that is associated with an outstanding quality history.

I think you mean a history outstanding quality issues. That is to say, unresolved, ongoing, and newly discovered quality issues.
Poor quality and serious safety concerns will always be news-worthy.

wow....this is bad news for toyota/lexus. quality has been the lynchpin of their brand. considering that they don't do anything else better than the luxury competition, this is sure to lead to even lower retail prices.

Toyota and the Special Toyota's (Lexus) are rolling bullsh*t. So when driving and pursuing perfection and your special Toyota shuts down mid-lane change and leaves you stranded, one can pursue the service advisor to come get the Toyota!

I know everybody is going to de-boost me and thats fine but well I just wanted to put up some facts from first hand. I work at a toyota dealership and our sales did not drop from the last recall scare and just yesterday month end close out, we sold 20 new cars. Not a Toyota fanboy or anything but well Im sure there are people out there that worry more about the first hand experiences than all of the trashing, so thats my input. I dont deny that people called about the recalls but I think our dealership did a pretty good job with dealing with the worried customers.

Your sales may be "good" but if you look at the numbers, Toyota actually lost market share over the last 2 months. The trend is downward, not upward, at this time. Remember, GM and Ford ruled the U.S. auto market in 1979 and then in 2009, twenty years later, they about died.
It's called momentum and trends, don't lose sight of what Toyota is consistently not doing.
