GM plans to build 10,000 Chevrolet Volts by the end of 2011, 30,000 more in 2012
By the end of 2011, General Motors Co. will build 10,000 Chevrolet Volts and by 2012, it will build 30,000 more, according to Tony DiSalle, marketing director for the Volt.

CEO Ed Whitacre told reporters in Austin that the Volt plug-in electric vehicle, which will be launched in October or November, will initially go on sale in Austin, Texas, and New York City. This is in addition to Michigan, California and Washington, D.C., which were earlier announced by GM.

I don't know. An early comparison to the Leaf (GM's info on their website vs. what Nissan has on the Leaf) makes me think the latter has the winner.

The leaf better come with free towing because if you unlike the Volt if you run out of juice your on the side of the road dead.

lol invisible have fun hyping a car that can only go 100 miles at a time. Just think, if the Prius had as bad distance per tank, it's gas tank would be only 2 gallons! lol

lol, I know you are entirely correct in what you said, it's just laughable how you compare the two. Why don't you also state that the Leaf will never ever run out of gas! haha since it uses none. It is as equally correct as your statement.

We are not ready yet on a large scale. We cant even get NGV's (Natural Gas Vehicles) going on a large scale. Natural gas is in abundance yet there are very little stations to fill a vehicle. Imagine how long it will take to get power pack swap out stations. Unless you just plan on driving 300 miles and waiting hours for a recharge, if there is a place to plug in. Thats a lot of money not to be able to travel anywhere. Good luck Government Motors.

Uhhhh. One put gas in a Volt and go as far they want. So your comment is moot.

It seems as if Larrybel2000 is so happy to propagate his ignorance that he is copying and pasting this crap all over this site. He said the exact same thing on the post Agent001 put up about which car is hyped. What a douchebag.

Wow Tango. I actually posted it here first. I thought at the time that the hyped area needed it as well. That just turned out to be an argument between the poster and a guy who didn't agree with the vehicles he didn't like. I stand corrected on the power plant and the fuel needed in the Volt. I will do more research before posting next time. No need for name calling. Call me out and if i'm wrong I will admit it and will have learned something. Because thats what MEN do. Good Day.

Yes. Same for me I enjoy a healthy debate based on facts and if I am wrong I will be a gentleman and admit my err. Something not common on autospies.
