2011 Mercedes Viano Official Revealed
The new generation of Mercedes-Benz Viano raises the benchmark for comfort, material quality and efficiency in large-capacity vehicles to a whole new level. The improved interior of both cockpit and passenger compartment sets new standards, as does an efficient new drive system. The vehicle's unique BlueEFFICIENCY technology, which comes as standard, ensures maximum fuel economy and minimum environmental impact. The new suspension offers comfort in conjunction with driving enjoyment and active safety, while the fresh styling of the Viano takes cues from the current Mercedes-Benz passenger car range to give the Viano a character all of its own.

Interior: comfort and operating convenience better than ever

New interior trim materials improve the look of the Viano significantly and improve its inherent functionality still further. A key feature of a new lighting concept for the passenger compartment is the impressive ambient lighting system. This comprises individual LED reading lamps as well as fiber optic units, while the whole system can be dimmed. New optional extras such as the Rear Seat Entertainment system enhance passenger travel comfort. Both driver and passengers ride in style on seats with redesigned upholstery. The upgrading of the cockpit ranges from new control buttons to a four-spoke multi-function steering wheel. All vehicle occupants benefit from significantly reduced noise levels.

Not surprised. Mercedes Trucks & Vans are popular everywhere except North America. It's that American way of thinking. Very judgmental and assumptive.

Or maybe its becuase American trucks are so good that they out sale many other vehicals and the Japanese truck invasion from the Titain to the Tundra ended in a whimper.

It's all about price Agent63. Judgmental meaning comparing vehicles and getting more bang for the buck and assumptive must be assuming they can make the car payment. I would love to own a Mercedes but had to settle for the Toyota Sienna XLE.

The Sienna is a perfectly fine van. There is nothing wrong. I just meant that most people would think Mercedes is degrading themselves by making a van but most people stateside don't get to see these types of vans or many of the trucks that roam around on this planet.

But Larry, don't you think the American market could support at least one "premium" family hauler other than the dozens of SUV models which are $35K and up? I think it's a shame we don't even have the option.

I use vito's for all my deliverys in business and I can say they are very reliable trucks that never let me down and drive like a car with a full load.

Mercedes is a luxury brand first and foremost. They don't cater to the economy class of cars. You need to go stick with the domestic brands and Japanese imports for that. They have cheap A, B, and entry-level C-Class(but a none C or the C63 is well into luxury price territory).

Excuse me but did you say MB is a luxury brand first and foremost, I guess you've not seen the MB cars used as taxi's that transport the masses in both Germany and Israel. Germans will tell you that the MB luxury models range from the S class models and above.

Yes I've seen Mercedes, BMW, and Audi's as taxi's. I've seen Lexus used as a newspaper delivery car and Lamborghini's as police cars. What's your point? Obviously the MB's you see as taxi's are completely stripped down without any luxuries. It's only right that Germany supports their own brands and sources them from the big 3.

MB is a luxury brand first and foremost. But they also have a division where they build trucks & vans for transporting. There's nothing wrong with that. If Lamborghini built tractors on the side would you think any less? probably not.

Mercedes chooses not to sell their entry level cheapo cars in America, but these models exist in Europe. They have E classes that are only 4-cylinders, and C classes with tiny diesels. It's Mercedes fault for trying to create that image in America, not the other way around. Mercedes chose not to sell these cars in America.

Europeans have a large variety of cheapo cars to choose from, including Mercedes, BMW and VW, but America only has cheapo American cars. Dunno why that is

For me (having) a big engine is a luxury and I would rather have more HP over many of the options offerd like self parking etc etc.
