VIDEO: Should We Conclude That The UAE Is OFFICIALLY The New Car Capital Of The World?
One tough question that we should ask ourselves is, where is the car capital of the world?

Sure, you can say SoCal or New York -- NYC has got to have some of the most dedicated car buffs just because owning one in the town is a travesty.

But, what about Tokyo or London? How about Moscow or Monaco?

Although those are all admirable choices, one stands head and shoulders above them all; Dubai

Whether you think the cars are overwhelmingly tacky or that some of their driving is downright frightening, you have to admit, Dubai loves its cars like none other. Talk about some serious imagination behind some of its cars. Custom paint jobs, rims, interiors, special editions, one-offs; you name it, they've got it.

**Take a look at a private garage in the UAE, it is INSANE!

Our current video of the day is this YouTube video of a private garage in the United Arab Emirates. The video was shot in Dubai to be precise and includes a pretty nice line-up of vehicles. The person filmed just one row of the complete garage. We can hardly imagine what the place holds more...

aha Yep. I like the few varieties in this video, and I love how they like Hummers too. But China is a better example now.

On the streets in Dubai, every day is an Auto Show.

yes and no. china is the bigger market in general, but the density of super- & luxurycars in dubai is unbeatable. I've spent 6 month in several parts of china and the majority of their roads aren't made for ground clearance lacking cars. let me give you an example: i've seen hundreds of cayennes but only one single 911.

Nice garage, but the UAE is a tiny market overall... I'd go with Hong Kong, followed by London... and NYC, a definitive No. Our roads suck and we treat our cars like all Hell. That's why I drive a Land Rover in New York... at least the suspension fits the city. Had a 911 for three years and it broke my heart to bang it down the BQE and FDR; absolutely trashed it.

Exactly, tiny market with a few big wallets to show off rare cars - far from the "car capital". They also produce nothing for the market, they are simply consumers.

I would exclude China as well due to the fact that their own offerings are far beyond Europe, USA, Japan and S. Korea.

I think a true car capital should produce world class cars as well, which makes this a tough question to answer.

I would not come to that conclusion just yet Dubai may have many cars but that dose not mean they love them more than anywhere else in the world. Dubai is just more able to afford them.

I thought Japan was the car Capital of the world? Or at least that's what Autospies were saying last year.

And isn't Dubai in an economic downturn right now?
