RENDERED SPECULATION: Lotus' Esprit Gets A Shape AND Its Dealers To Get An Overhaulin'

Now in an unexpected move, Lotus has essentially told all of its dealers that as of July 2012 they will be not selling its cars.

I wonder how that morning meeting went over...

Additionally, in another more intriguing move, the company is planning expanding its portfolio of vehicles extensively. Supposedly it wants to get closer in competition to Ferrari and Porsche -- not an easy crowd to run with.

Said to be in the pipeline are a new Esprit, a couple of front-engined GT cars and a roadster.

Look for them to make an appearance at the Paris Motor Show.

Radical changes are taking place at Lotus. Auto Express has learned that a raft of new models will debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, including a new Esprit (pictured), two new front-engined GT cars and a new roadster. The models will appear in the form of concepts at the French event.

The news comes as the company served all of its European dealerships with notice. The shock move means all of their contracts to sell Lotus cars will come to an end in July 2012...

Sorry guys, this bad boy is fake. You can find out how they put it together at Lotus Esprit World. Go to "Other Stuff" at the top left, then scroll down to "The New Esprit". Looks good though.
