DRIVEN: How Does The 2011 Infiniti QX56 Stack Up Against The Competition, Its Older Sibling?
We have already made our views clear about the Infiniti QX56.

It certainly has its quirky styling elements and it is a massive truck, but is it better than the outgoing model? Hell, does it even make a case against the competition? Rather than trust those other guys who place the QX on a pedestal -- for whatever reason -- we'll stand behind our man at USA Today.

Infiniti remade its QX56 nearly from the ground up for the 2011 model year. It wound up with a truck that's bigger outside but smaller inside than the one it replaces, uses less fuel than its predecessor but still has a big appetite, and is odd-looking but now in a deliberate and stylish way.

However, the test truck — and it is a truck, with 3 tons of body-on-frame ruggedness — had some issues that undercut whatever appeal the big guy possessed. Sadly, two involved key systems you use a lot: the brakes and steering...

Later on the writer -- James R. Healey -- says:

But if you need the size, can afford $60,000 or so and a big premium-fuel appetite (midteens with prayer), can live with the quirky steering and (possibly) numb brakes and like a distinctive, often satisfying machine, you might be a match for the new QX56.

What is obvious is the truth in your statement leading us here. we'll stand behind our man at USA Today.
Just like a crooked politician, no matter what the truth is, we are going to ignorant, oops ignore the 8 of 10 good review and decide the results on the 2 of 10 that we agree with. Just like a bunch of people in Texas rewriting history to please themselves. triffling display of the lack of integrity to car lovers who support your site.

@drell1emc

We have never said anything bad about the QX56 besides the fact it is a bit rough on the eyes.

In fact, I actually like the interior.

We WERE pointing out that USA Today is a more reliable source than the other publications whose wheels are essentially greased by the auto makers.

Do your research, chief.

My favorite line is when the writer describes it has a certain "Middle Eastern chic to it."

what's wrong with that? The middle east is one of its most popular markets.

I'd rather take the GL450, GX460, or Rover over this...

I was trying to put my finger on what I found wrong with the new Q. I covered "side gills" on the image on the computer and voila, it looks 1.5 times better.
