If You Were Picking Today, What Models Would Be Your Three Leading Candidates For 2011 Car Of The Year?
There is no doubt in my mind that the cars of today are a much better overall group, than say even 5 years ago.
Because of the new technologies, changing economies and wicked competition in the marketplace, to just survive, they have to be.
So winning a car of the year award in these times, is an even more prestigious honor than in the past.
ESPECIALLY, if it's picked by the people who REALLY matter--YOU vs. the usual suspects awards that we refer to around AutoSpies.com, as the best awards money can buy!
So let the world know, if the award had to be picked today, what THREE models in order would be your leading candidates for the 2011 Car Of The Year Award?

2. 2011 BMW 335iS
3. 2011 Ford Fiesta
1) Shows exactly what Toyota/Lexus is capable when it thinks out of the box
2) The perfect BMW, in my eyes. Great, easy-to-use daily driver and has spirit/spunk
3) An entry-level vehicle that doesn't try to be anything else. Relatively cheap, decent interior, although slow it drives well and it gets decent MPG.

LF-A - Say what you want about the price, but this is probably the most exciting thing that has come out of Japan since the Supra.
M5 - 4.4L TT, should fly
Chevy Volt - I think this car will be the turning point in electric technology... Sure, Tesla has made great strides, but we're talking about bringing electric to the masses... I think this will do for electric cars what the Prius has done for hybrids.

2. V6 Mustang
The heart of a car is its engine and these new Mustang motors are leaving its competition in the dust. Hats off to Ford's management.

Although I wouldn't buy either I have to agree that the Volt and Fiesta will be strong contenders for NA car of the year....simply because they're so different in this market.
