2011 Audi A8 L priced from $100,000
Pricing details for Audi’s new flagship vehicle for the Chinese market, the A8 L, have just been announced. The vehicle’s market release is set later this year and will be priced from EUR79,900 ($100,000) for the 3.0 TDI version.

Measuring 130 millimeters (0.43 ft) longer than the standard-wheelbase version, the A8 L is the top version of Audi’s flagship A8. There is much to be in awe about this vehicle. First, it offers an extensive list of engines — two V6 engines (TDI 250 hp, TFSI 290 hp), two 4.2l V8s (TDI 350 hp, FSI 372 hp) and a W12 unit.

is .43 of a foot really worth the extra cash. And do these hold value longer than the shorter version if equipped with the same options?

the long wheel base will be the top seller in the USA just like the S class and the 750l

Their cars are very well made. You pay not for the styling as much as the build quality. I'm not a huge fan of this gen A8 but the interior will be the best part about it.

Another Overpriced Bland looking Audi. 100k for the V6 model? LOL!!!
What a joke!! Audi by far offers the weakest engines in the most expensive cars. LOL. For that price you can get a S-Class or a BMW 7-series with a powerful V8 Motor. Audis are the biggest ripoffs.

China market is about 50% more expencive then here in the USA
you can't buy a v6 here in the USA

The S class has a much larger engine but is not even in the same class as the 7 series and the A8. The A8 drives better and is almost 500 lbs lighter then the same 7 series (xdrive)
not to mention the fit and finish and interior are amaizing

What are you talking about not being in the same class? The S-Class is the benchmark, the car that everyone wants to be. They are all good cars yes but don't forget why this segment is so important to all car makers. It's because Mercedes set the bar high from the get-go.

When you say "Every time I see it", are you referring to the car or a picture of the car? It seems most people that have seen the actual car have liked its looks. Most car manufacturers these days are trying too hard to come up with distinctive designs but end up with overstyled - sometimes garish looking cars. Audi is able to keep their cars fresh and modern looking but still conservative enough to stand the test of time. The D3 A8 still looks great on the road even now. And by the way, it doesn't look that great in pictures either.

LOLOLOLOL Idiots!

The entire car enthusiast world has been waiting for this car for some time because they knew it was going to be great and Audi didn't disappoint.

Sure the S-class and 7 are great cars with really big engines producing big power, but inside, they look cheap next to the new A8. I mean really cheap! Is the S-class faster? yes, especially with the new 429hp engine. Mercedes in an effort to save the car's image just stuck in the most powerful engine of the bunch for braggin rights.

The 7 has a good engine too but it's not that much faster than the Audi. In fact, when the Audi hits about 70mph, the 7 is doing 75......not a big deal. To make the Bimmer even close to the A8 in terms of equipment, your looking at $115KUS at least.

Both the BMW and the S Class have a lot of body motion in the tight stuff, the Audi is very buttoned down by comparison. The Brakes on the S-Class are very spongy when compared to either the 7 or the Audi. Steering response on all but the Audi with "Drive Select" set on sport is very slow, yet set the car up for comfort and they are all comparable in terms of ride.

In a nut shell, the Audi can be configured to give you a half dozen or so different drive styles in one package with the fit and finish that is leagues above the rest.....I mean night and day difference. Given that most don't drive this type of car maxed out to the limit do to speed limits and traffic congestion, the few extra tenths you get from the more powerful competion and the extra fuel burned in the process seem rather miniscule.
