Range Rover is the ‘most ideal’ vehicle, survey says
New cars owners were surveyed by AutoPacific about the most ideal vehicles and none other than the Range Rover SUV from Land Rover was named as the overall top-rated vehicle for 2010.

AutoPacific, a market research and consulting firm based in Tustin, Calif., revealed its annual Ideal Vehicle Awards this week. Porsche was named as the top premium brand and Ford as the best volume brand. About 42,000 owners were asked to rate new vehicles “by how closely they come to their ideal.”

We can assume you talk from experience as you've owned several of their products correct?...I would hate to know that you were one of those that has a friend of a friend who has a cousin who is three times removed that owned one 7 years ago!

Not all Range Rovers are bad. Not all X5's are great. I had an 07 X5 for a month. The engine was completely shot and they gave me my money back! how generous.

Why isnt this believable? The RR has a great reputation...

It is believable because it is the best. If you own one you understand.
If you dont... well....there is always compromise.

Patrick, you (and everyone else) is missing the point. It's about reputation, this is a desirable car. It's not your personal opinion on it. Grow up.

I believe it, better than anything BMW has ever produced.

Good work RR!

I would always take a BMW X5 or Lexus LX over a RR anytime if I could only have one as a main vehicle. If I could have more than 1 SUV, a RR Sport would be nice.

I've owned two Range Rovers and currently drive an LR3. Aside from basic maintenance, they've been reliable vehicles. From personal experience, they've been no more expensive to maintain than the Mercedes or BMW's
we've owned.

RR is a great vehicle as long as you don't mind feeling disconnected from the road and ride a bit too high to feel comfy taking corners.

This was why I got rid of my 03. The Sport was much better suited to my driving but until this year the interior quality didn't match the price.
Now it does but alas my business is down- sniff, sniff...

I would like to buy a RR but with so many conflicting comments I amnot sure if I should or not.
