GM says its forecast of 230 mpg for the Chevy Volt electric car is dead
Have you ever wondered what happened to General Motors’ forecast of its Chevy Volt electric car running 230 miles per gallon? Wonder no more as it has been confirmed to be dead.

GM said that this figure had been calculated using a government formula that never got final approval. It also said that the feds are trying to come up with a new formula. Last Wednesday at GM’s battery factory in Brownstown, Mich., Micky Bly, executive director of global electrical systems for GM, said that the carmaker doesn’t know what the new number will be.

As much as I would like to see GM successful. Regardless of the new EPA standards for plug-ins, even to work in favour for the Chevy Volt, or what the Volt will achieve. By the time they come out to the market, the rivals(Toyota, Nissan, Tesla, Lexus, MB, Audi, Hyundai, VW, Mini, BMW, etc, etc, etc....) will have their own electric or hybrid "chuck wagon" & will also surpass the Volt's EPA ratings very easily. GM had this chance to dominate and truly evolve as a leader in this auto sector with the Saturn EV-1 and a small market of rivals to worry about then(mainly Toyota), then add a special GM sprinkle of negative public outcome to Saturn's EV-1 short life-span(thanks to the corruption of California & WhiteHouse's government panels and Oil Industry of coarse a.k.a. (SSC)Stiff-Suit-Cowards that let the money think/talk and not their pigeon brain...), addem' up to give you a sweet taste of deja-vue all over again. Is GM confident in this Chevy after-school project?!?!...Sheeeiiit, if you gave me $60plus billions dollars in taxpayers money with a big bag of chippy thoughts(2 flavours to pick Government or UAW...awesome!!!) & a gallon of BP soda fizz(apparently enviromentally friendly, bio-degradable, injected with Tony Hayward's secret sauce. I heard he likes it in his tea too.) So how can you not feel confident..for now...I guess?!?!? Especially talking s#it in their commercial ads(really?...But hey give them credit for having big balls for once, must have read the book of stiffees on "how to be an Oil Billionare without the pigeon brain" Good way of spending that cheddar in GM's world. What's new there?)...All we ask is just don't F*#K up, that's all! Good luck Government wheels! Gooood-Luck!!!...Ohh by the way... just got the breaking ticker folks! As I just submitted my comment I look out the window and there goes "Joe_Lemon Tits" contributing to the enviroment, riding his new BMX(no not BMW) bike, he looks so happy and liberated, congrats J_LT! But what's with the basket on the front & streamers on the handles?!?! Loving the pink helmet!...It's so Joe though....Well kids that's all I gotta say for now, Happy Friday & weekend ya'll...remember kids Say no to drugs, like J_LT, and UAW_ExLax. But most importantly..."Flame bashing before buying"...The choice is yours. Love to all automotive brands...Peace! LMFAO!!!

Never was a realistic rating. Hopefully the real rating includes the electrical energy used.
