FIRE! A Ferrari 458 Goes Up In SMOKE! Are Mid-Engined Vehicles FLAWED?
Where is the correlation between fires and mid-engine, Italian exotics?
I do not know but they all seem to wind up setting themselves on fire, spontaneously.
For example, a recently purchased Audi R8 -- although it is not Italian, its roots are debatable -- torched itself in Connecticut after the driver saw some smoke emitting from the engine bay.
The irony? The driver was a lottery jackpot winner. Poor guy, no pun intended.
In this case we see one of the newest mid-engined cars on the road engulfed after having a malfunction of sorts.
What say you, Spies? Would this deter you from buying a mid-engined sports car?

why haven't they been able to rectify this problem? It's happened to so many Ferraris already and yet it continues on to the next line of new cars. As much as i love Ferrari, if i were this owner I'd be heavily disappointed but that probably wouldn't stop me from getting another one. I expect Ferrari to send me a brand new one after what happened and a little something to go with it

all of these high end super sports cars have the same problem THEY GO UP IN FLAMES....Lambo's, Porsche's, Ferrari's, Bugatti's, Astons etc...etc...etc I mean damn is this what to expect from a six figure car. and its not poor craftsmanship its the amount of heat that builds up in the engine compartments. I dont care how hard I push a car thats worth 6 or 7 figures that thing should NOT catch fire or explode thats just crazy

I don't know how it happened and why but it's a painful sight to see this car go up in flames. Same goes for any Porsche 911, R8, LF-A, GT-R, 458, Gallardo, etc. These premium vehicles are not suppose to go in flames.

To bad it was NOT a Lexus LF-A because if it was, we probably have 1000+ post by now. I love Ferrari and the Audi R8 but this should NOT have happen. I wonder why It hasn't got fix yet.

This is painful to look at. Although half of this vehicle is up in flames, it still looks good. This has GOT to be something with the cooling of these vehicles. I dont think it has anything to do with the motors because it happens to many mid-engined vehicle brands and quite often.
*shrugs shoulders* Oh well, Im pretty sure every single one of these vehicles is insured.
