Toyota to repair 600,000 Sienna minivans recalled over the risk of corrosion
According to a July 12 letter sent by Toyota Motor Corp. to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it will fix about 600,000 Sienna minivans recalled over the risk of corrosion in a cable that holds the spare tire.

At no cost to owners, Toyota will remove and repair any corroded sections and will apply anti-rust agents to all cables in each of the vehicles. The recall announcement on April 16 states that it’s possible that the spare tires will fall off if the cable deteriorates.

I feel terrible for all of those Toyota owners from the last 10 years. What a shame.

Are you kidding? My 2004 Sienna still runs beautifully after 150,000 miles. Sure I live in California where there's no snow/salt to cause rust, but I can't complain. The car has been trouble free beyond the regular maintenance that comes with old age. Spent $2400 for "major" parts replacements at 100,000 miles and haven't looked back. Nothing better to take the kids to soccer/baseball practice and picnics.

150k is not a lot of miles any more. I have three cars with that many miles on them om being a used Chevy venture that only needed a new serpentine belt.
