Lexus Announces Pricing AND Changes For MY 2011
As the 2010 model year vehicles have begun to become "old" by automotive industry standards, the 2011s are beginning to unveil themselves slowly but surely. Now, Lexus has stepped up to the plate.

2011 will be a big year for the brand as they overcome a 2010 rife with recalls and the destruction of consumer confidence. And it appears that the big "L" will experience some exciting changes, particularly with the IS.

With the IS, 2011 will bring some subtle refreshing in terms of the headlights, new front grille/bumper and new wheels. Additionally, for the first time, the IS350 will be available with all-wheel drive. Will this give BMW 335Xi owners a chance to explore something new?

Probably the coolest news about the IS will be the capability to option out the IS with F Sport modifications. 00R recently had the opportunity to drive an F Sport modified IS and will be divulging his experience soon. 2011 IS' equipped with the F Sport equipment can expect new 18'' wheels, suspension modifications, front/rear spoilers and microfiber seats.

Lexus' press release follows:

TORRANCE, Calif. (July 16, 2010) – Lexus today announced Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) on its 2011 models ranging from the luxury IS sport sedan to the flagship luxury hybrid sedan LS 600h L.  The new Lexus vehicles will arrive at dealerships later this summer and early fall. The MSRPs do not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $875.

All 2011 Lexus gas models will receive a standard new brake override system as an additional measure of consumer confidence.  The braking system enhancement will automatically reduce engine power when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are applied simultaneously under certain driving conditions.

For 2011, the popular IS 350 luxury sport sedan line is adding a 306-horsepower all-wheel drive (AWD) model.  IS enthusiasts will now have the traction and grip of all-wheel drive with the IS 350’s higher performance capability.  New HID headlamps with LED daytime running lamps are standard on the IS 350 and available for the IS 250.   In addition, a new front grille and bumper highlight the IS sedans, while at the rear, it sports a new taillamp cover and revised tailpipe design.  The IS models will also feature newly designed 17-inch and optional 18-inch wheels, along with revised exterior choices.

A new F Sport Package for the IS 250/350 rear-wheel drive (RWD) models will have special suspension tuning and 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark super-chrome finish.  The F Sport package also includes a front lip spoiler and rear deck spoiler, a matching dark chrome front grille insert, F Sport badging, and the addition of Ultrasonic Blue Mica to the exterior colors.  For the interior, unique front seats feature a special microfiber insert and leather side bolsters to provide grip for the driver and passenger during cornering and F Sport badging to the steering wheel.

The LS 460 flagship luxury sedan has changes to its suspension for all-wheel drive models including the discontinuation of Truffle Mica exterior color.  The LS 460 AWD models will have standard coil suspension for comfortable everyday driving and available air suspension to allow drivers to adjust for their current driving situation.

Owners of the ES 350 will reap the benefits of reduced cost of ownership as the new fuel recommendation changes from 91-octane to 87-octane.  ES 350 customers will continue to enjoy a smooth and quiet ride.  The ES 350 will receive an EPA fuel economy estimate of 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 on the highway.  A new exterior color, Deep Sea Mica, replaces Black Sapphire Pearl.

0% increases for the IS250 and the RWD LS460 models? I don't think I've ever seen that before. They're not even accounting for inflation. Nice!!

Are those LEDs in the headlight housings of the car pictured? I'm not really liking the LED lights that seems to be the current styling trend. What function do they serve? LED's are popping up on everything. It's like the designers said "We need to have LED lights".

@LexSucks

Yes, those are LEDs in the headlights. The enclosed press release says that they are for DRL purposes.

And I'll be the first to say that I'd rather have some played out LEDs than those lame-o halogen LEDs that I just experienced on my '10 IS test vehicle.

LED turn signal, tail, and head lights weight less, have a significantly longer bulb life and use less power. Power savings can be significant. And yes, while you do have an alternator and may think that is is a non-issue, Audi quotes the R8 as getting 1 MPG (~7% improvement) better fuel economy with the LED Head Light option since the alternator does not need to run as often. A lower peak power requirement also means the car designers may be able to get by with a smaller alternator and battery - - - saving weight and cost.

Europe has day time running lamps. You have to have some headlights turned on at all times. So these little LEDs serve that purpose really well.

No $$ increase?
Let see maybe its because they are all ready overpriced :)

USA has by far the cheapest cars in the world. A Lexus RX fully loaded will cost you $100,000 in europe. And even more in Russia, Australia, and a bunch of other places.

Audi does LED's the best IMO- everyone else just looks tacked on.

One caveat- the new BMW LED Corona's on the new 5er and 335is/LCI are gorgeous.....

you left out the best details...

"While an impressive piece of work, we found it to be just short of the M3-beater Lexus was shooting for. After looking over feedback from its first three years on the road, Lexus has made some important updates for 2011 to address some of the biggest concerns facing the car.

Namely, Lexus has tackled the ride and handling. We found the IS F to be something of a punishing ride off the track and lacking the utterly intuitive steering of the M3. The folks at Lexus apparently agreed and set their engineers at righting those wrongs. To that end, they've revised all the spring rates and shock settings as well as the rear bushings and camber angle, all in the name of improved ride comfort and responsiveness. They also set about tweaking the electric power steering system to improve steering feel and driver control.

Unfortunately, Lexus also caved to recent allegations of electronic gremlins and installed a brake override function on the IS F, likely putting an end to power-braking launches and other such shenanigans.

Topping things off, Lexus also did a little sprucing up inside the car and out. Outside, the 2011 IS F gets some trendy LED daytime running lights while the interior is treated to new gauges, a silver-trimmed steering wheel, "dark finish aluminum" trim and a "Sport" button relocated from the center stack to the steering wheel. Cars ordered with the black interior now get seats with leather bolsters and Alcantara inserts to better hold you in turns. The Terra Cotta interior is out, replaced with a new orange and black leather interior package.

If the mighty IS F is a bit too rich for you blood, Lexus has also done some work on the standard IS. In fact, you can now get an "F Sport" package on your IS 250 or IS 350, provided they're of the rear-wheel-drive variety. F Sport models get front and trunk lip spoilers, a "dark chrome" grille insert, special "dark super-chrome" five-spoke 18-inch wheels and a new optional paint color called Ultrasonic Blue. More importantly, the F Sport Package gets special suspension and steering tuning to improve handling. Finally, F Sport models get new leather-and-microfiber seats to hold you in place and "F" badges on the steering wheel, shifter and door sills.

The biggest update for the average consumer, though, is the all-new IS 350 All-Wheel Drive model, essentially a more powerful version of the current IS 250 All-Wheel Drive, which by itself accounts for 30 percent of IS 250 sales nationally.

The IS 250C and IS 350C convertibles, meanwhile, get only minor changes. They include new black and silver interior trim and an optional Saddle Tan or Light Gray interior when you pop for the Luxury package. Deep Sea Mica replaces Ultrasonic Blue as the IS convertible's blue color option.

All 2011 IS models except the top-shelf IS F also get a slightly revised exterior. The front fascia received minor tweaks and is complemented by a revised grille and HID head

yeah....i'm not going to give them innovation credit for fixing major flaws with the car. the ISF ride was hideous and unbearable, so that should have been fixed immediately.

So for 2011 people can make their lower performance smaller engined IS' look like an F but not actually be an F. Whoop! Let me get the 18's and sport muffler slapped on my Matrix XR and zip around like I'm an XRS. Don't mimic the model if you can't afford it.

And it's about damn time they offered an AWD 350. People have been stuck in the 250 for too long.

And I still think Lexus' are overpriced.
