VIDEO: Does Volkswagen's 2011 Jetta Leaving You HOT or COLD While Meandering Through SF?
When you look at the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, it seems to be a polarizing vehicle. Some people exclaim that it looks great and like an Audi, while others find it a bit too cold and sterile.
And, 00R cannot determine which it is for him.
On one hand it does inherit some of Audi's design cues while maintaining some of VW's latest design language. On the other it does seem quite bland.
Ultimately, for me to make a decision I think I will have to wait for the GLI version. If that still has me questioning, VW may have lost me this time.
What say you, Spies?

Not ugly but just dumpy looking. That's not such a bad thing as it has worked for some Hondas and Toyota of past. I do see a similarity to th previous generation Passat because of it bulbous profile.

They have a nice design. I would give the designers a pat on the back but reconsider giving them a potential raise or even maintaining their current salaries.

There is a very strong A4 resemblance in all aspects except the front. The front kills this car, making it look to tall, round, and dumpy (as was nicely put above). The interior, from what I could see is very, very nice, but the exterior leaves a lot to be desired.

Conservitive, frumpy, and boring, those are the only words that come to mind.

Dull, dull, dull. I don't see this design drawing excited buyers into VW showrooms--at the same time its looks won't keep dedicated VW fans from buying.

As a current Jetta owner, and having owned the past two generations as well, I like what I see for the exterior. I'm unsure about the decontenting to keep the price down. I currently have leather, power driver seat, dual zone AC and Nav. Only the nav appears to be available on this one, and I really dislike the dash with no computer. Perhaps that will be available on the upper levels or in an option package.
My final opinion will await seeing it in person. I've found I just can't trust pictures, no matter how high quality they are.

Chick car! Just like all the previous generation Jettas. Any self respecting man wouldn't be caught dean in one.
