Rumor: Next-generation Nissan 200SX to get green light
Insiders say that Nissan is prepared to compete against the reborn Mazda RX-7 and VW Scirocco with a follow-up to its 200SX coupé.

Replacing the 200SX that was scrapped in 2002, this new two-door will slot under the 370Z to give Nissan a more fuel-efficient and inexpensive fastback to rival the Scirocco and Renault’s three-door Mégane. Just like its predecessor, the new Nissan will be rear-wheel drive. However, finding a suitable platform on which to build it is proving difficult.

Perfect time for NISSAN to come up w/ a lighter, smaller platform w/ max weight of 3000 lb. This can be shared between Z and Silvia, instead of using that of Skyline.

YES!! Come on Nissan, don't back out like you did a couple years ago. Bring this out and it will take down the RX-7 and Genesis Coupe!!

I consider the RX-7 as part of the NSX, GTR category.

Unless Mazda can keep up w/ something running within 7:30, that no longer applies.

Hopefully it will remain RWD.

I would expect it to stay RWD, otherwise, it will just be another Altima Coupe in the lineup. Come on Nissan, don't mess this up!

Im thinking the new RX-7 will compete with the 370Z, not this proposed car...although I'd like to see Nissan make a new 200SX
