COMMERCIAL Break: Is This Cool OR What? Lexus IS-F Stops Time?

COMMERCIAL Break: Is This Cool OR What? Lexus IS-F Stops Time?
It seems that Lexus' marketing department is getting better with every advertisement that I stumble across. The latest I've encountered shows an IS-F television spot that shows the car essentially stops time through its high-speed travel.

And I thought the LFA breaking glass was good.

The narration speaks about a test in October 1971 where scientists placed two atomic clocks -- one in a jet, one on the ground -- to prove that a clock at speed runs slower than one at rest. What it boils down to is if a jet traveling at the speed of light could essentially stop time entirely.

As we see the IS-F during this "test," it manages to do a hint of damage.

To be frank, I am not well-versed in this field to even touch it with a 10 foot pole. Regardless if it is real or fake, you have to admit that it is a cool idea for a tv spot, no?

Stopping time is perfect for lexus. Lexus is all about the static demo. They are designed through and through to be impressive when stopped. Even their LFA ad has the car PARKED! The cars and ads are all a product of the same marketing scheme to sell them from the dealer show floor so they don't need to compete as thoroughly on the road. No one buys a lexus for driving dynamics, they buy them bells and whistles and sparkly/shiny plastic and that is by design.

It's all good LEXUS produces these quality RWD cars, but these commercials are just not convincing. They should go for something RAW, especially for the F line. If IS-F can be driven like hell, show us!

Oh wow, I don't know what to say about that. Only thing for me is that I wish it will have manual instead of "semi-automatic" gear shift. Then I would actually choose this car over the bmw 3 series m.

They should show this car in a head-to-head competition with an M3 around the Nurburgring. Let the best car win.
