LEAKED! Is The Audi A7 Everything You Hoped For AND More?
I think we can confidently say that this is what we have been waiting for since we saw the Audi Sportback Concept at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show; the new Audi A7 official photographs.

The car was stunning in concept form and it appears that Audi, like many other manufacturers, has been sticking very close to the concepts that make their rounds at the latest auto shows. But I already know the first thing Agent001 is going to ask me:

"Why didn't Audi make the 2011 A8 look like that [points to A7]?"

Regardless, we want to know what are your initial impressions of the A7 before its total unveiling, which happens tomorrow...

Let us know in the comments below, Spies!

The first official images of the all new Audi A7 Sportback are making the internet rounds today ahead of the sport saloon's debut on Monday. These photos, which were sent our way by Carscoop reader Enrico, prove that the production car has stayed remarkably true to the 2009 Detroit Show concept's appearance.

Most differences concern practical details such as the shape and size of the exterior mirrors, and the air-inlets on the front bumper. The car also keeps the show car's five-door body style with a practical rear hatch...

What happened to the rear? It looks like the roof is eating it.

yeah not sure about the rear, not quite as bad as the 5-series GT but don't know what they are trying to accomplish. New A6 should look great...

gotta a point ....but i like this I think if BMW would have took this route and sloped the roof down a little more it probably would have worked. This car is sitting on the Lamborghini Estoque concept platform so I am sure this will probably be about the same size of an A8 give or take a few inches. The interior is still classic Audi with the screen poppin out the center dash (thats a little dated to me). They need to take what BMW started with the 7 series and put a staionary screen in the center dash. I dont like it 100% because of the hatchback look but the back end looks a little better than the BMW 5GT

Very true to the concept with the crisp styling. Should also have the new FI V8.

Front looks too in line w/ other AUDIs and should be crispier like that of rear.

So is the Audi's version of the Porche sedan/hatchback thingy?

Is Mercedes the only one that can do the 4 door coupe thing right? the side profile looks horrendous!

Have you seen the BMW Grand COupe? It looks amazing and I think it'll be a good competitor

I would have sworn by looking just at the front it was an A5.So sad. Of course its a beautiful car,but Audi took this design too far. Every single car looks the same. They should have given it to the A4 and A5 and left it alone. The side is so CLS.Nevertheless it should be an awesome drive. The only problem I have with these four door coupes is that the rear is always so short. This car looks like if you floor it off the line the front of the car will lift up. It just looks very heavy and short in the back. Weird.

not sure abou the rear, like the front. But over all I will still prefer the New 6.
I like the interior, But is it me or BMW and Audi are looking more and more like each other now.

new X3's navigation screen looks like A4/A5/A6 ...
this new A7 dash board looks like 3/5/7

WOW, and I do mean WOW!!! All that time on the edge of my seat for that?

Dear Audi,

Please(no, pretty please with sugar on top) bring the A5/S5 Sportback to the US. At least we can have a good looking 4 door coupe option to spend our weak dollar on.

While you're at it, why not reconsider the RS6 as well? Can't let MB and BMW have all the super sedan fun.

Signed faithfully yours (but waning),

RS6Fiend

I've seen the A5 sportback in person and this appears to be better looking

The operative word is appears my friend. For a new model at that proposed price point, with tough competition (upcoming CLS & Gran Coupe, even Panamera V6) it should be a drop your jaw winner. Instead it appears to be "umm, ahh, its alright"

I agree with your points, still this will be better looking than the A5/S5, just a lot more $$$...that should be new A6 styling (minus the trunk)

Kind of looks like a Lamborghini in the rear and that is a good thing. Very Euro looking and I expect to see this car in the next James Bond movie.

The rear is not good looking at all. I would take the CLS, gran coupe, and the 5gt over this!

In the first picture it looks great. The interior looks great (typical Audi best in class) but then the ruin it with the cheap looking pop up navi. 4th picture almost same as first, last picture bad looking rear. Now my 2 cents knowing audi it will be underpowered compared to the compitition and over priced. CLS bench mark, gran coupe for now middle child. a7 red headed step child no love

Well , I am a Mercedes Fan but this looks better "for me" from side and rear....the front still better on the ClS.

Liked the concept much better, not feeling that rear end.

I really like the interior but the rest is a let down. It looks like all other Audi's from the front and it looks like they ran out of money to finish the back end.

Interior is top notch, I really like it. Exterior is O.K. My prob is 2fold......

1.It should look richer for the money (exteriorwise).
2.No V8 (crazy considering the cost)

Solution?
THE S7. It will be out late 2011 and should look more agressive with waaaay more power.
