Breaking: 2011 Ford Explorer priced from $28,995
Ford spokesman Jay Ward revealed today that the pricing for the 2011 Explorer will start from $28,995, which means that the new car will be with $1,000 less expensive than the existing model.

The standard Explorer will be offered with a front-wheel drive, a 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine capable to deliver 290 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and is expected to deliver more than 20 percent

I think ford has a winner for with this not as good as the jeep grand cherokee or the new Durango/Magnum that was leaked last weak but this is THE best looking Ford Explorer I have ever seen since they were built in the 90's. this is the first I can say I like

@ carguy: Because front drive saves weight, which saves on overall fuel consumption. Unfortunate fact of life, when companies now have to get of their tails and finally give us vehicles that don't require a personal friendship with an oil company to own.

At that price though, it's going to be in the same consideration category for people looking to get into a Chevrolet Traverse. Will GM drop their Ecotec 2.0L turbo into the Traverse to compete? Interesting times ahead, I assure you...
