2011 Bmw 5-Series Sedan recalled for bad fuel-level sensors
A recall has been issued by BMW AG to repair the fuel-level sensors of about 12,400 new 5-Series sedans in the US and China. Of this number, there are 6,400 cars in the US and 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles in China.

BMW spokesman Frank Strebe said that half a day will be required to replace a part of the fuel tank sensor. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration

Forseen...It was done also with the 5GT which is using the same engines and parts....but it is not a big deal.

Recalls always sound so bad especially for such a minor issue, can't we come up with a new name, like immediate unscheduled maintenance or something

Most of the recalls recently have something to do with fuel... Looks like all the automakers are paying attention to that one specific criterion for the moment.
