I thought the Leaf range was 70 to 120 miles. You must be thinking about the Volt which has a limit of 40 miles on batteries only.

The leaf is 100 miles average (depending purely on driving habits) 50 miles is the average point of no return.

Rental of a Leaf is a nothing but a Nissan PR stunt to expose the car to more prospective buyers. The car rental market is most about lots of miles of cheap unlimited mileage, this car is not for that. I would not rent one unless they provide a Honda EU1000i portable gas powered generator backup in the trunk.

Wow what dose this do to resale value now that there many in rental fleets? And what about renters that DO NOT know of the cars very limited driving range, is there free towing involved or will they just charge their credit card for a stranded leaf?

C'mon people. I'm not saying Enterprise has the best business model, but I am sure that everyone that rents this car either knows of its performance/range limitation and will be forced to sign a waiver.
