I would have to agree with you this look betta than the 5GT and the A7. It has a more sportier look and the fit and finish looks way better but i think its because of the smaller look which give the 3 GT the upper hand over the 5GT and A7....so i guess the A4 variant should be out around the same time or a little after

I'm not sure how you can compare fit and finish of two cars that are not even in production? Styling wise, it does flow better than the 5GT (ugly as sin) and the A7 (a bit boring). At the end of the day though, it is still a hatch, so will it well in the American market?

the A4 version would be the A5 sportback, been out for awhile now...

Terry989, I think hatches could sell well here if they look right, like this. Maybe the reason we didn't like hatches was because there were no good cars with hatches being made.

The only two companies that made hatch backs work from back in the day was SAAB and mazda I know everyone know the mazda 626 hatchback from the early 90's if you dont google it.....Now the germans are trying something new with their line up and this is the very first hatchback from the german big 3 I like. and as for production i am sure this will make production. As for the A5 sportback yes it is out but not in the north american market I think they will keep that in the european market like they did the RS6 and make an A4 version

So they should make a sporty 5 door hatch based on the A4/A5 chassis and it won't be the S5 sportback??? And yes the Mazda 626 hatchbacks were great...

I need to see more pics but that pic looks decent. But what's the deal with what appears to be NBA front seat headroom?

the "GT" look is definitely better suited the smaller body style of the 3 series and makes sense. They should've introduced the 3GT before the 5GT so people are accustomed to this look and then draw them to the upscale version in the 5GT.

Oh well, better late than never.

By the way, the M3GT would be AWESOME and outsell the M3 sedan.

I think you're on to something with this. A M3GT would make a lot of sense and give M3 buyers that little extra ammo to convince their partners to go along with the purchase.

Very interesting - Can't wait to see in person, now if only we could get it without the RFTs

The 5GT front looks quite nice already...

Now why couldn't they make the 5GT as good looking in the back as this one?

Still all round the f10 5 sedan is probably the most beautiful and sleek 4-dr sedan out there now.

I don't understand this whole GT thing BMW is trying to do. Are they crossovers or what? they should name it a completely different model as it's certainly not an estate or a sedan. It's like that X6 mess that they made.

"they should name it a completely different model as it's certainly not an estate or a sedan"

Yea, like 'Gran Turismo' or something. Good catch agent63!

I agree that it is frustrating to not have a pre-made category with which to pigeonhole it (like 'crossover'). Thinking for myself makes my head hurt. Sounds like it does that to you, too.

I like it. It may be my next 335. Don't understand the $6K premium though.
