Infiniti to launch in Europe

Nissan [compare Nissan prices] Motor Co. Ltd, today announced that its Infiniti luxury brand will launch across the European market during 2008. The announcement was made in Tokyo by President and CEO, Carlos Ghosn, during a press conference for the 2005 fiscal year results.

Launched in the US and Canada in 1989, Infiniti is currently sold across North America, Taiwan, the Middle East and Korea. In 2006, Infiniti will be launched in Russia followed by China and Ukraine during 2007.

I personally dont want to see Infinity on our roads...and i think many people would agree.
That plus nothing special that is just as expensive makes me think Infinity is going to make it in Europe

It's Infinit(i) with and "i". If you could spell it right maybe I'd take you more seriously. So, why do you feel we shouldn't have Infiniti on our roads? Just curious. An educated response with a factual based opinion would be nice.

I'm not sure how it'll play out in Europe. I don't think the Europeans will be as open to Infiniti as the North American market has been. Infiniti would have to incorporate some diesels into their lineup and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Europeans don't want Infiniti.

It's too Americanized. Too glitzy. Too tacky. Even the name 'Infiniti' sounds cheesy.

I don't think the Cadillac BLS will sell well either.

Europe and America are totally polar opposite when it comes to cars.

A small turbo-diesel saloon wouldn't go down well in the US, but likewise, a Mammoth SUV would be avoided like the plague in Europe. Save for footballers wives, of course.
