SPIED: Is This The Euro-Spec Honda Civic Or Will THIS Be Coming Stateside Too?
When we first posted spy photographs of the next-generation Honda Civic, we were confronted with one large, looming question:

Is this the European-spec'd version or is this the real deal that will be landing on U.S. shores? To keep it simple, we do not know but it does not appear to look vastly different from what we imagine an all-new Civic to look like.

We know that Honda has delayed the all-new Civic so it could "rethink," as Autocar puts it, the Civic, as it is going to face some tough competition. Especially coming from the Korean manufacturers and the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta.

What do you think the forthcoming Civic will need in order to beat out the flurry of electric vehicles and competition that is becoming stronger?

Honda’s next-generation Civic has been spied during early development testing in Germany.

Originally due this year, but delayed until late next year after a rethink, the new Civic is said to be lighter and more economical than the car it replaces, in line with Honda’s new strategy...

Who in the hell wants specs on a Civic?

The Civic will get 30mpg plus, be a 4cyl., not 200hp. They would not jump it 60hp off the current base 140. I would propose to see more of a 150-160 for the mainstream models and if they offer a new Si with 240-250 ish with a turbo if they are smart enough. Drop the 4 cylinder RDX turbo engine in there.

Looks like they ditched the little window past the mirrors as well. And given the raised rear quarter it almost looks Kia Forte'ish.

6 cylinder?

I think that is highly unlikely. The current civic despite being the oldest in it's class is still very competitive and arguably the best design. Next one has to be very good to beat it and will than automatically become the class leader. Huge expectations from Honda.
