Honda built more vehicles in the United States than it did in Japan
This past quarter, Honda’s US production had outpaced Japanese production for the first time ever. It’s a common practice for carmakers to operate plants in many countries to complement production in its home country.

For the second manufacturing quarter of 2010, Honda produced 236,819 vehicles in the US, while it built 236,559 vehicles in Japan. There’s actually only a 260-vehicle difference but it’s still seen as a major landmark for Honda. But when the production for the first half of the year is calculated, Japan made more than the US. A total of 491,913 vehicles were produced in Japan compared to 480,913 in the US.

They'd be dumb not to advertise this.

I completely agree. The only thing is that most of the cars that Honda, as a brand, competes with are also built in the United States. The ironic thing is that I can not really say the same thing for the domestic automakers. Except for the Taurus, and maybe Malibu, aren't most of the American vehicles that compete with Honda built in Mexico or Canada?

It means nothing if you know the industry, the Japanese auto market has been in a free fall for over a decade now. their mass transportation services are used far more than ours so many people do not even own a car.

Agreed on both points. Honda is getting boring and Toyota has been boring for years now. The only thing nice in the current Honda lineup would be the Accord Coupe in V6 trim with a manual. Put it in white with black leather and you have a winner.

Honda is shooting itself by still offering the Civic for another full model year with no new design while Ford, Hyundai, Chevy, etc. are all pulling the stops to get small cars to market sooner which will further eat away at the Civic sales.

Just imagine how many RWD civics they could sell with a modest V6 under the hood and a good trans with still give it modest MPG!

Even if they didn't drop in a V6, look at Subaru sales and VW sales with turbo 4's!
