Who Will Be Next? Vauxhall Shocks Industry With Lifetime Warranty

Vauxhall has announced ‘lifetime’ warranties on all new cars registered from 1 August 2010.

The Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty covers the cost of replacement parts for the first 100,000 miles, but there is no time limit.

Vauxhall expects that this will equate to a lifetime's worth of cover for 90 per cent of its customers.

The comprehensive OEM warranty applies to the first owner of any Vauxhall car from the day of registration and covers all major components, including powertrain, steering system, brake system and electrical equipment.

Car owners will need to have a free annual vehicle inspection at a Vauxhall dealer.

doesn't look like a lifetime warranty, still limited at 100,000 miles. THis is good when you don't use the car... mile limit still the same though!

Very similar to the wireless carriers unlimited internet which is capped at 2 gigs....

Basically this is the future of warranties. Reliability is quickly becoming a non factor in the purchase..

Early reports indicate that Opel has done the same and is giving lifetime warranties as well.

"Yippie, screw the tax payers even more to cover the cost of repairs on the shoddy UAW craftmanship"

That would be Toyota. I wonder what re4call we will read about tomorrow.
