As you may know already, Lamborghini unveiled the Estoque Concept back in 2008 and made quite a buzz, but until now there is no decision regarding a possible production of the vehicle.

Now, it seems that the four-door coupe is considered by Lamborghini which is owned by Volkswagen. Porsche already owns a 50.74% stake in Volkswagen.

The financial crisis that gripped Asia in July of that 1997 set the stage for another ownership change at Lamborghini. The new chairman of Volkswagen AG at the time, Ferdinand Piƫch, grandson of Volkswagen's founder, Ferdinand Porsche, went on a buying spree through 1998, which included the acquisition of Lamborghini for $110 million. So Audi does not own Lamborghini, it is run under the auspices of Audi.

In 1997, Lamborghini finally passed its break-even point, selling 209 Diablos, thirteen more than it needed to be profitable. The CEO Di Capua also leveraged the Lamborghini name and identity, implementing aggressive merchandising and licensing deals. Development of the "baby Lambo" aka Gallardo began, moving forward with a $100 million budget. Which Audi uses as it's R8. The Estoque if built will be based on the VW
Volkswagen Group MLB platform. The Modular Longitudinal Platform component matrix is intended to allow the Volkswagen Group to design a wide variety of longitudinal, front-engined, front-wheel or four-wheel drive models using the same set of components. Cars based on MLB range from mid-size cars to full-size luxury cars. If built, it would be a cool a** ride!!

@ 1badman, thanks for the history lesson. I'm sincere about that thanks. Anyway, if they build it then it will help establish them even more within the market place. I absolutely love the car and think it is a wonderful design.
