Wow. It's really sad to watch someone try so hard to be clever, yet fail miserably.

Beyond the lame-ness of this article in general (as clearly represented by this man's zeal over this ladies' car) he got his descriptions mixed up because it seems to me that the democrat would want to reduce weight as a means to gaining performance because this saves fuel and is therefore more environmentally friendly. In fact this is what BMW was doing with this car because they use turbos instead of displacement - the "zed 4" is not even close to a "more is more" car. A republican would say "f-it, you only live once" and shoehorn a 6.3 liter V-8 into the car and revel in it's fury.

Libs don't buy cars like this because if he doesn't get 50 miles to the gallon they won't own.

LuvMyLexus--I hate to burst your anti-liberal bubble, but this liberal drives two vehicles ('09 M3 coupe and '09 ML550) that get less than 20MPG. That being said, the article's references to Democrat and Republican philosophies are silly and, in several cases, inaccurate.

Apparently, you are shallow enough to believe that all 'liberals' espouse the same position on every issue. This type of narrow-mindedness is one of the many things that's wrong with people the US today, and is sadly promoted by this ignorant article. I have a mind, and use it to agree with positions that make sense to me and disagree with those that do not, instead of blindly following the masses. I'm a gun owner, too--surprise! I would list the many reasons I consider myself a liberal, but a car enthusiasts' forum is not the appropriate venue for such a discussion.
