SPIED: The SPIES Bring You The FIRST Shots Of The NEXT Audi A6
If you have not been paying much attention to the latest Audi products, the A8 and A7, it seems that Audi has been catching a lot of flack. Why? People are simply finding the designs too bland.
But, from what we can see that may all change with the upcoming A6. Provided that what is under the camo is far more interesting.
OR...
Is there not much really going on here at all? From what little we can see, the headlights appear to follow the A7's look and there is a nice line running along the side profile.
Obviously, this is an extremely early prototype of the A6 but
what do you make of this, Spies?

How do you claim that you SPIED this, when Autobild published it first and all your doing is regurgitating.

No kidding AB published it first, hence why we SOURCE it and LINK BACK to the original.
The headline is merely stating that AutoSpies is bringing YOU -- the user -- the first shots that were supplied to us -- by AutoBild.
Now go back to trying to put your square pegs in the circular holes.

personally I dont think there is too much to look forward too if its going to be anything like the A8...but i will give them the benefit of the doubt for now because all the camo you really cant tell. it looks like BMW is going this route too but with blandness of these cars they need to make their sports sedans more agressive to get away from the cookie cutter look. I like what BMW did in the interiors of the new 5 and 7 but i guess i am just used to being different that the exterior doesnt really do anything for me.

I understand b7fan, I felt the same way about the new 5 series which looks like a small 7 series. I think the A6 will absolutely blow the doors off the soon to be archaic 5 series.

I dont know we will see Im not really judging right now because this car is fully camo-ed. but with Audi's track record of blandness I want to reserve my thoughts on this car until i see the real thing. If they do overhaul this car and make it completley different I will be SHOCKED.......literally....but I do favor the A6 cuz it has been my favorite Audi next to the A5

You know BMW is going down the path of blandness as well...The new 5 is a nice design but will get old quick. I know the last 5-series was ugly but at least it was interesting to look at!
Audi's problem is the fact that there grill is a design trait that looks virtually the same from model to model as with the side profile line. Same problem with the current 3-series & 5-series; very similar grill, bonnet & profile lines.

I agree with you, MunichRob, on that particular issue that seems to constantly strike the two companies.

After seeing a new 5 series in a parking lot yesterday I swore it was a new 7, so apparently Audi isn't the only company doing this.

Im sure they wont let us down; they'll keep up the trend, and it'll be just as boring as ever other audi

I see all these negative comments about how Audis are all starting to look the alike, and now the same for BMW. The question is, why is this a bad thing? I think that establishing a strong and recognizable brand identity is a good thing. Prominent automotive designers these days are jumping from one company to another and taking their own design aesthetic with them. What they cannot take with them is the brand identity that a company like Audi or BMW works very hard at establishing. When you see an Audi or a BMW coming down the road, you know it's an Audi or a BMW. The same cannot be said for most Asian vehicles.

I agree. Especially Lexus and Hyundai. I can't tell the difference between those cars. Slanted H, Slanted L. Is everything slanted over there????

I hope next A6 looks more squarish and different from current A6. But it most likely will be a fat and short A8.
