Wow! I always considered myself more of a Chevy kinda guy, but it's ridiculous how the Mustang is becoming hotter with every new version like that. Big kudos to Ford!

Why it is faster around Laguna Seca than the IRS equipped BMW M3?

I think quizz and enforcement are missing the point -- if the car can pull 1.0g on the skidpad, slalom at 70+mph, and not only demolish its main competitor (Camaro) but also hang with (or supposedly beat) an M3 on the track, then why would they change it? Just to make it more complex and expensive? If it aint broke, don't fix it. And with those stats, it definitely aint broke.

Why is something old necessarily a bad thing? Old can incorporate new technology while retaining the basic design (see GMs OHV V8s). Lets also remember that lots of stuff that people see as 'new' and high tech aren't new at all (OHC designs have been around since before 1920) and independent suspension designs aren't new at all.

Ford has simply taken the solid rear axle design and improved it to be the best in the world. They have made it outperform the more complex (and heavier) IRS designs in much more expensive cars. That is no easy feat and not one to be taken lightly.

As for people calling it a 'truck' axle, well that shows how much you know about either a truck suspension or the Mustang's SRA. Ignorance is said to be bliss, so enjoy your bliss.

Great car. Ford I think has finally broken the sports car threshold. It may be a muscle car but it is also a sports car now as well.
