PEBBLE BEACH 2010: Could This Be Jaguar's NEXT XJR? Thumbs UP or DOWN?

PEBBLE BEACH 2010: Could This Be Jaguar's NEXT XJR? Thumbs UP or DOWN?
For whatever reason, there are just certain cars that I will always have a soft spot for. The kind of metal that makes me say "I need to own one, no matter the consequences, before I die."

And that's exactly what the 2002 Jaguar XJR 100 is to me. The XJR of yesteryear just stole my heart. Not so much those newer ones, though.

But at this weekend's Pebble Beach event, Jaguar brought out a "design concept" called the XJ75, for the firm's 75th anniversary. Our friends over at Autocar seem to be hinting that they believe this could inspire the next-generation XJR.

After looking at the shots, we agree. Especially since it seems that this would be a perfect event for Jaguar to gauge buyer's opinion if they should even bother with an XJR.

In case you're not in Pebble Beach though, feel free to weigh in and let Jaguar know the deal right down below.

**Check out the shots down below...

Jaguar has taken the wraps off this new XJ design concept at Pebble Beach, hinting at the styling direction for an XJR super-saloon.

Officially the one-off Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept has been built as part of Jaguar’s 75th anniversary celebrations to show off the scope for customising the new luxury saloon, but many of its styling changes could easily be adopted by an XJR...

I'm trying to feel the rims, but I can not for some reason. I think because of the whit highlights/trim around the diameter of the rim is throwing me off, but other than that, this is a great car.

One thing is for sure: Jaguars are now much cooler than Audis. Unfortunately, my average, non-car-enthusiast friends think otherwise.

I like it except for the blacked out C-Pillar around the rear windshield and the front of the car. From the photos, the kit makes the air intake on the front of the car look too big, almost Dodge Ram like.

I love the interior, everything from the A-pillar rearward and even the purple inside.

The new look is slowly growing on me. I like how this one looks. Perhaps it's my replacement for the LS :). It's a little awkward at first but after seeing it a few times I began to enjoy it.

Jaguar is hot in general. Right now they don't have enough engines to satisfy sales. They are getting help from Ford.Mark my words. In 2 yrs Jaguar will be up their with Audi,BMW,Mercedes, and Porsche (not in sales yet)in desirability. They have the design and engineering cabability beat the 1st 3 and certainly approach Porsche. The XK75 which is a much larger and heavier car then Porsches GT3 has compared very well against it and BMW's CSL.All I can say is wait and see. This is sleepy giant in the making.
