As we wrote about yesterday, it is being hinted that this could be the firm's next-generation XJR.

But at the end of the day we want to know if it makes the cut. Does the XJ75 make the "A" team or fall down the ladder.

Weigh in down below...

*Take a peek at the FIRST real life photos of the XJ75 down below...

Definately a Stud. Jaguar is very serious about being a world contender against BMW,Mercedes,Audi, and Porsche. They have the design and engineering talent to pull it off. The latest XK75 is proof of the pudding. It has gotten great reviews in the ride and handling department. The new XE should be quite a contender. I think Jaguar will be a real player in the Luxury Sport segment over the next couple of yrs. In fact they don't have enough engines to support their sales right now.

This is an EPIC FAIL! Ian sounds like some old dude trying to do what he thinks the young "cool" kids are doing.
This car is an embarrassment to Jaguar. The diamond pattern in the seats...been there done that. The stopwatch idea...been done already....the blacked out trim...who ISNT DOING THAT? When will Jag think AHEAD of the pack again?
This silly treatment is what the Rice burner tuners would do to a car. Even the Hip Hop segment would think this is corny. Imagine pulling up to a nice restaurant's valet in this nightmare...tacky...even for the Jersey Shore crew.
Jaguar is SUPPOSED to speak of bespoke elegance and effortless style. Trendsetting...NOT following!!!
ATTENTION IAN: Hire some YOUNGER, HIPPER DESIGNERS!!! NOW!! Jaguar is becoming corny and playing catch up. While Audi and BMW are blazing trails.

I love the Jaguar brand, and is why I am so angry with the lame designs they are coming out with. Jaguar needs to stop and take a look at their past. Study the lines, the flow, the daringness of the designs of Jag yesteryear. Its comedic when you see the vintage Jags lined up, then see the new XJ...It simply doesnt fit in.
It just is not sexy enough. There are too many hard lines, and not well thought out elements.
Audi has mastered "well thought out" lines. The creases, and cut of body panels all flow in Audi's.
BMW has been looking at their old 60's cars and taking the cues into the new 7 and 5 series. Have you noticed the low hood lines of the new 7's? Is taken from the old 1973 "2002" models...and looks sexy on a long car.
So PLEASE IAN...stop following...and start blazing.
All the wacky paints schemes and silly body kits cant hide a bad design for the XJ... geeeeezzzz MAJOR DUD!!!!!!!

Jaguar has said on several occasions that the super-sport obviates the need for an XJR. However, the XJR is such an icon for Jaguar that I just do not see them not producing one- and all they would have to do it name the super-sport “XJR” instead. That is not what they did, which suggests something else is going on.

The other thing is this: the XJ more than any other vehicle in its class is designed to be a sports saloon- it’s fundamentally advantaged in that area. If there is any doubt about that I refer you to the AutoBild.de comparison of the XJ and the 7-series from a couple of months ago. The XJ beat the 7-series in DRIVING DYNAMICS. They actually compared it to a jet ski. If you think about it that shouldn’t surprise anyone because the XJ has a set of fundamental physical advantages due to what it is made of an its design, that you really can’t compensate for with things like suspension tuning.

Anyway, they did something similar with the XF where they came out with a supercharged and a year or so later came out with an R version.
The problem is the engine: the XJR would have to have a new engine. The “super-sport” already has the R engine of the other models in supercharged form. I personally think Jag needs to make a V-12 again, but I do not find that likely.

One last thing- if it is an “R” concept, then it lacks the bonnet louvers that are on all other R models.

Its a great car that is when compared to the Merc and the Bimmer, it is set above them. Almost as a middle mark between the Merc/Bimmer and Rolls Royce ; and yes I said it. It seems to go above and beyond in aesthetic beauty over the Merc and Bimmer. I think over all it is a great car that has drama and presence about itself.

I agree but closer to MB and BMW than Rolls.

...like maybe Maserati?

I've read before that is exactly what Jag is going for; not necessarily more expensive than MB / BMW, but more exotic and niche.

Its so funny how they say in the video: " we will see what the response is like"...LOL They are so unsure of themselves they resort to this??? Tacky aftermarket tuner touches? pleeese. Step your game up Jaguar Designers! OR I WILL TAKE YOUR JOB.

NOW WOULD YOU OLD FARTS STOP ACTING LIKE THIS "LOOK" IS SOMETHING NEW!!!!! DAMN!!!! its soooo 2003!
...Now if you made one that was FLAT British Racing Green with a Orange suede Interior (like a Spyker C8) you might have something. This is what I mean when I say MIX old and new...The Brit racing green harks back to the legendary color for Jag and the use of FLAT paint is what makes it MODERN. (ps- the flat "frozen" grey bmw's sold out in days!) ADD VENTS like poster noted, add TENZO Flat Black Type-M Version 1 RIMS, Add FOGS, make all chrome trim Brushed trim. THEN MY GENTS...you will have something special!!!
Geezzz do I have to do EVERYTHING?!!!

ps- make sure the brake calipers are deep orange like the interior, Bremont watch is ok...A Industrial North Design Watch would be more "cutting edge cool" ( a British brand as well ). The glove boxes and trunk should be lined in bright red. The foot pedals should be cross drilled titanium. The fogs and headlights should have an alternate YELLOW amber setting for real fog conditions. ok...im done.
