2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Leaked Ahead of World Premiere
We’ve known it was coming for some time now, and photos showing it nearly undisguised have already surfaced. But today, the first press shots of the next-generation 2011 Mercedes CLS-Class have been leaked, showing the newest iteration of the four door coupe in all its unabashed glory.

As you’ll see (and as previously reported), numerous styling traits from the Concept Shooting Brake are present, including a prominent grille, aggressively styled front bumper, daytime LED running lights and a long bonnet. Under the hood, look for two petrol options: the CLS350 CGI and the CLS550 CGI. The first will feature the new direct-injection 3.5 liter V6 engine with an output of 306 PS (301 bhp / 225 kW) and 368 Nm (272 lb-ft) of torque, while the 550 CGI will feature a new 4.6 liter twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers 435 PS (429 bhp / 320 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The CLS 550 CGI is expected to be offered with an all-wheel drive option as well. As for the CLS diesel options, look for a 350 CDI with a 3.0 liter V6 producing 185 kW (252 PS) as well as a 250 CDI with a four-cylinder diesel engine producing 150 kW (204 PS). And lastly, when the 2011 CLS63 AMG makes it debut, look for AMG’s new twin-turbocharged 5.5-Liter V8 with subsequent output of 544 bhp and 590 lb ft torque to make its way into the consummate model, with an optional Performance Pack boosting power to roughly 570 bhp and the 663 lb ft torque mark.

Overall I like it, I'm not a big fan of how Mercedes has been flaring the sheet metal out over the wheel.

Ditto, with the S Class and Cl Class being the only exception IMO.

They took this styling cue from the Chrysler 300 and the front from the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Half American and half Korean. Very sexy!!!

Looks good, but they should leave the fender blisters alone. The front is good but the rear quarter is not that great. Overall a big improvment over the last generation.

The whole car looks great except for the front. It's difficult to see what exactly is going on here in the photos, so I need to see it in real life before I make my final decision.

Didn't like the new E class when it came out, but the moment I saw it in person I liked it.

Mercedes, please keep putting bigger stars on them. This will certainly help.

Willis, I should have read all the posts before I post mine up there; because we almost have the exact same posting. Just thought I should mention it.

Very busy design. Like everything except headlights and rear fenders. Overall a step forward.

Most of Enterprise's buisness is actually in-state customers using the service for vehicle replacement due to auto-accidents. I work there and hate my job, but one thing I hate more is people whinning about rules and practices that are put into place in an effort to make a buisness more sucessful. Yeah it sucks that people in the past have made it so certain qualifications are put into play, but don't blame a company for following it's rules. You couldn't walk into a Best Buy with a credit card number written on a peice of paper and buy anything, let alone rent a $15,000+ peice of equipment. To impy that it may be due to race or not fitting a profile is simply outlandish and foolish.

The rear looks like a cross between a VW CC and Maxima.

I would still hold my judgement until I see it in person. The thing to note is that cars that have a lot of embodiment, i.e., presence about themselves tend to be none photogenic for whatever reason. Point proven with the E-Class coupe and its oddly proportions on paper with it back wheel looking like a cripple body part on the car, but when seen in real life it is quite stunning.

Wow, just wow. It looks handsome and I'm sure it looks even better in person.

I like... very aggressive sport styling. An AMG version wouldn't need any added designs except for the badges.

Okay I like this and Im pretty sure its going to look MUCH better in person. For all of you who dont like it, I think you will change your minds once you see one on the road in your color. Thats what it took for the first generation CLS (for me, anyways).

On a side note: I know Im getting WAY ahead of myself but I cant help but wonder what the next CLS will look like! Or do you think they will retire this model? *shrugs shoulders* Just wondering exactly how far this design will go before there is nothing else you can do with it...
