STUD OR DUD? Audi's S1 Caught In The Buff Circling Nürburgring

Audi’s rival for the Mini Cooper S, the S1, has been caught undisguised near the Nürburgring in Germany ahead of its debut at the Paris motor show late next month.

As expected, the S1’s look is borrowed from the standard car’s S-line package including lowered suspension, 17in alloy wheels and a small spoiler at the trailing edge of the roof.

Thanks to the incorrect title, you're thinking of the A1. This is a prototype. I don't think anyone in the media has tested it or, therefore, reviewed it.

This car wont have quattro, and will have the same power output of its vw equivalent! They are calling this a s1? I have read that this is basically a polo with an upscale interior, the problem is the Polo GTI is known for its bad ride and handling balance.

Since it's an Audi performance will be safe rather then exciting.It will probably mirror the A1 with a bit more performance. if you read articles on the A3 they don't rate it as fun to drive as a Golf GTI. I don't think Mini has anything to worry about.
